Verbatim off of my window sticker:

"Parts Content Information
For vehicles in this carline:

Major sources of foreign parts
content: Mexico 15%

Note:Parts content does not include final
assembly, distribution, or other non-parts costs.

For this vehicle:

I didn't relize this would get so serious. I just thought it was funny that the car comes with cheap chinese knock off's from the factory. I want to go pull a wheel off of the TA now and see what it says.

Oh and I believe I saw a Made in Canada stamp on the trunk lid the other day. At least it's from the car is built.

This shouldn't be a shock to anyone. Also for those who do not know. "Made in the USA" Does NOT mean every aspect of that product was made right here in the USA. Example:

You could have an entire factory made of Chinese equipment using a Chinese design and petroleum along with other components from various countries. Then actually build that ring here and label it Made in the USA. Because A: The petroleum is far removed from the final product and B: The cost wasn't a higher percentage.

the money they got from the bail out came from the US government but was supplied by CHINA!!!

Our government has bent over and grabbed the ankles so often for the Chineses that they now have a say in everything the government does.

Until GM figures out that the unions are going to ruin them and tell them to take a hike, they will never get back to their glory days. It really is sad, everyone knows what the problem is, the unions know its unsustainable but will not budge, GM knows the same but would rather take Chinese money to pospone the pain a few years.......

I'm sorry if I insulted you.

What you talk about in your post is exactly why I hate Walmart. With Walmart, all local money goes to Arkansas, into the pockets of the Walton family. They then pay their Chinese suppliers.

For everyone who complains that things aren't built here anymore, all you really have to do is look around and blame your neighbors, and in many cases, ourselves.
I think that one has forgotten that most of this stuff is made with robotics , it's not a labor intensive like it use to be .Some off this is done over seas because politics , they say for you[GM] and others to sell your other stuff in here [China ] we want to built this , that and that for X, Y ,Z for this $ , get it now .It happen a few years ago with Boing , they said we will buy X # of the 777 if we make the tail for the 757 s , what we did , no problem , here it is the top of the line machine so you can built what we need for the 777, oh by the way that machine can also make some exotic parts for the jet plane for your air, force that you really want to have [ like they didn't already knew that .Do you need to know more crap like this , just have to ask .

I've learned to stop complaining. Whenever I'd gripe about something being made in China, my girlfriend yells at me "Why you not like Made in China? I made in China!".
