Smashed the window on my mustang and walked off with a walmart stereo (oh yes because I knew it was just going to be stolen at some point!) and my 8500...

He never checked my glove box or he would have seen the 20 bucks in 5's and 1's I keep for parking...

I'm not a cop - but

Radar jammers are illegal by Federal law therefore illegal in NY

There is no specific legal statuate in NY V&T regarding laser jammers

so what exactly r radars good for? do they pretty much get you out of every ticket you would get or do they sometimes not work....im kind of a noob to radars but am interested in getting one. Any advice?...And how often do you encounter these undectable-until-its-too-late-lasers?

9500 here. Great unit, very few false +. The laser detector never really does the trick. I think its just to keep competitive feature wise. the laser is too tight to detect it. GPS is nice too to lockout false signals and warn of cameras. easy to make a cord and plug it into the power going to the rear view mirror.

I haven't gotten pulled over since I had picked up my 8500. It is really nice to be driving and to have it start to signal to me that there is a possible cop ahead.

I love them and wouldn't drive without it.
