I paid $204 a month for my 2011 silverado and 09 xr1200 Harley Davidson, I now pay $219 a month for my 2011ss vert, 09 xr1200, and liability only on a 94 gmc 2500 Sierra. I feel I got lucky with my horrible driving record (lots of tickets and accidents over the years), the multi car discount, and setting the ss up as a pleasure vehicle helped a lot, along with my age (41), and location Birmingham, AL.

I traded an 08 Nisssan Titan for my 2010 2ss and was fully expecting my insurance to go up, it actually went down only by 6 bucks a month,
I was absolutely shocked. We expected about a 20 dollar jump.
The insurance company said it was because the Titan was such a big vehicle.

Comprehensive coverage is the reason for your increase. Blame vandals, not Camaro drivers. Genius

It's probably gone up because now they have accurate data for the newer model car and they know how much it costs to repair it. In 2010 when the Camaro was released, the insurance companies could really only guess how much to charge because they really didn't know anything about the car. Now that there are quite a few on the road, and with them a claims history, they have actual numbers to work with.

Insurance is a gamble that most of us can't afford NOT to take. BAsically, we as the customers are betting the insurance company that we will have a claim BEFORE a certain time, and they are betting that we won't. If we don't have a claim until after a certain time in our payment history, they make money, which is usually the case. If we have a claim before a certain time, then we make money, but they ALWAYS get us in the end. Rest assured, there are very few car insurance companies that will ever file for bankruptcy......

Yeah $120 a month for BFE Oregon is high.

Posted earlier about the high rates in DFW and headed off on my daily 15 minute drove to work. But, TWO separate (non-Camaro) accidents slowing traffic made it take me an hour and a half.

Be very glad if you live in BFE.

Probably less vandalism there, too.

Wow.

My insurance just went DOWN. I pay less than $400 every six months. But I also insure my Camaro as a pleasure vehicle, not a daily driver, so that keeps my rates low. And I have another vehicle on that policy-- a Blazer.
