is anyone here running the Fast LSXR 102mm Intake and the Nick Williams 102mm throttle body with the only other mods being a Cam, Headers, CAI and Exhaust???? any significant gains in hp/tq
looking at these two items to go with the other items listed but not sure if its worth the apporx $1500 worth of parts(intake and throttle body). |

Add some good big-valve CNC heads and you will get the most out of that combo.

Looking at my results I would say the combo is worth little to nothing...my numbers are nothing special compared to some others who didnt use the 102/102 combo.
I have ~20 rwhp over the average cam only g6x3 car and I have heads. I would think that ~20hp is all from the heads. I honestly wouldn't waste the money if I had to do it over again. Have sc2150 port your stock TB and have another reputable place port your stock manifold if you really need to mess with it. 376 cubes just isnt enough to use a 102mm inlet NA. If you plan on doing a SC I have read that the 102 TB can be worth some very good gains...15-20hp I believe. |

+1I although do feel that the 102mm intake is helpful if your doing a big cam. I lost nothing down low even with a big cam which I attribute in my own mind somewhat to the intake. I have seen a few builds where they didn't have the intake manifold and lost a bit in low rpm range hp/tq wise. Overall i'd say on its worth ~10rwhp at best. |

That setup on the camaro also requires an aftermarket idler pulley which is another $100+

I think the combo of FAST 102 and NW 102 TB is probably worth about 15 RWHP. Thats what I picked up after tuning them in. This is with a build just like Troy's, minus the TSP heads. I don't know if it was the tune, but low rpm driving and throttle response improved over a VMax ported TB.

I called Comp and they gave me the dimensions and I found one that worked. There isn't much space between the pulley (idler) and the TB, but there is space, probably the thickness of a quarter or so. I never measured it. I haven't started the car yet so it might jump off but by eyeballing it, it appears to line up nicely enough. I cannot remember the thickness of the washer but it wasn't anything extreme, basically a normal thickness washer. The diameter of it was what was needed to go behind the idler pulley and the center hole big enough for the stock bolt to go through. Before I discovered I could use the stock idler, I bought the necessary belt to use the Katech idler. I couldn't remember which was which so I tried for several minutes to get the "shorter" belt on before I remembered it might be the short belt. I then grabbed the stock belt and it went right on. |

Just be sure to keep an eye on it for it making contact with the tb. If you are in and out of the throttle the tensioner moves quite a lot!
Good luck! |
