Whatever, your rates in the states are dirt cheap. You have no idea how good you have it, yet still complain. Secondly drivers under 25 more often speed, get into accidents and do stupid things with phones and such. That is why they make you pay more. Suck it up

Example...you say you pay 310. OK, I'm guessing 500 or 1000 deductible, and minimal coverage. Also, driving history plays a part (as it does in my case).

The problem with insurance companies (well one of them) is they quote you as if you were a bad driver 98% of the time. Its up to you and your driving skills to prove them wrong and THEN they will drop your rates a little bit. I pay $908 per year for my Camaro SS and that's with house and multiply vehicles. I think that's really good. My 2002 Civic is $853 a year
What vehicle can go crazy fast????? Absolutely makes no sense. To the OP....I guess your only choice is to stay with your parents insurance until you turn 25. What other choice do you have $850+.....come on

Some of these rates you are posting are ridiculous - I wouldn't drive if I had to pay 800$ a month. I'm only paying 150 and I thought that was kind of high.
I saw someone post about hitting 25/26 and seeing a drop - hate to break it to you but that's a myth. By the time you hit 26 you may have been driving 10 years already so it's possible you will see a drop but nothing substantial. Your insurance isn't based strictly off age. You think an insurance company will insure a 26 year old with 1 year of driving for the same as you at 26 with 10 years? There is no magic age. Call your insurance company and they'll confirm that it's a load of garbage. |

You should search more insurance companies.
Im 19 years old, i got my license 6 months ago, i got a brand new camaro 2lt and am paying just over 200 dollars per month. I am probably one of the most expensive case for getting insured, but my farmers insurance agent did some modifications and got me a relatively cheap price |

I'll second that USAA is amazing to work with and will really take care of you - if you have USAA you probably have Navy Federal Credit Union as your bank. I just took out a loan for my car last week - 1.79% - find me someone who can beat that and join them if you can. Chances are slim though - not many can touch that.

damn, some of you guys are paying out the nose. I have 3 on my policy right now, my 2012 camaro, my 2007 altima, and my 98 200sx. the camaro and the altima are full coverage, and just liabilty on the 200. 6 month policy runs me $604 per 6 months, or a smidge over $100 per month. it breaks down to camaro-------------$228 or $38 per month Altima---------------$261 or $43 per month 200sx---------------$115 or $19 per month. and thats with $250,000 per person, $500,000 per accident liablility, 100,000 property damaging and $500 deductible. but one thing some of you guys are missing here is a lot depends on the type of accident and tickets you have. the dollar amount an insurance company pays out for an accident will most definitely effect your rates. your rates are going to go up a lot more if you cause a 3 car accident where two of the vehicles are totaled as compared to rear ending someone and doing 5k worth of damage. |

No accidents or tickets (improper equipment -- result of a ticket that was reduced, but which I was told doesn't affect my premium), turned 25 in November of last year, paying about $67 a month. That's with a motorcycle and renters insurance.
Funny thing is, the renter's insurance was added at the same time that I bought the car. I'm paying rent to my older brother, but its more 'under the table' than anything else -- he didn't want to worry about trying to sell the house in this economy, since he had to get a new job much further away. I called them about the renters insurance, which was added without my knowledge. They ended up telling me that I'd be better off just paying the renter's insurance ($50 a year), because it was saving me $100+ a year on my auto insurance (multi-policy discount). Probably depends alot upon where you live (state, city) and where the car will be 'garaged.' I was thinking I was going to spend $1000+ on insurance when I got my SS, but got away with full coverage at a much cheaper price
