Pawan sent me this link (thanks) as I asked him for ideas or another bracket.

During my lunch break I attached the can as shown and it looks like a much better fit. But what is that component we're mounting the can to? The mounts are insulated.

Gonna plumb it after work. Thanks all.

That is the fuel evap control. Takes the fumes from the gas tank and burns them in with the intake air charge for emmissions.

Great place to install! I just did the same location but I'm going to buy a longer bolt. The stock one is too short and only gets the middle of the nut.

Got it done.

I ended up tucking that one hose under the engine cover.

Thanks everyone! This place rocks!

Looks great!! When I got mine it had the instructions for the 10-11 and the mounting points wouldn't work so after an hour of scratching my head I came up with this. Glad I could help anyone.

Big thanks to the OP on finding this for the rest of us. Relocated mine this morning. Great mounting spot!

Well the funny thing is, I got that can when I had a 2011 SIM. I traded it in on a 2012 45th, so the can technically doesn't match my car, but there are so many other silver components around it, I think it looks fine.

Instructions?

Is RX still handing out the instructions for the 2010 / 2011 catch can to those of us w/ the 2012 LFX engine?

I haven't installed mine yet for that reason...

This is the best mounting solution/spot I've seen. That's why I did it. What do you need instruction on? You should be able to see where we're mounting from the pictures we've posted.

I agree - this is one of the better locations I've seen for the 2012. I used the engine cover bracket cause I had already removed the Engine Cover anyway. I also installed te breather - like it very much. If installing the breather cap just don't forget to remove and plug the line from the stock intake to the top back of engine on the drivers side. Seems like a lot of people do not do this, which sort of defeats the purpose.

Here's mine in place with the CAI. Another parking lot mod, this time at lunch...took me 15 minutes. The only problem I had with this install was that connector body that ends up behind the catch can got in the way when I was trying to hold the nut. It slides out of the "christmas tree", though, so you can move it out of the way when tighening down the catch can bracket.
