Possible to get a new salesman?

I'm pretty upset with my salesman at the moment, and I want to know if it's possible, or who do I ask to get another one, or do I even need one at this point.

Thursday I got a VIN and asked my salesman if we could do the paperwork early so I could get my 1.9 and use the Private offer. He says no problem, and he took my ss# and DOB. Promised to call me back in 10-15 minutes with a time to come in and do the paperwork. 3 hours later tried to call him back (I had been in a meeting) and got voice mail, left a message.

Friday left 3 more messages asking when to come in. Asked the receptionist if he was even in on Friday, they said yes, leave a message he'll get back to you. Never heard back.

Now the week-end is over and Monday is the last-chance to do this. He didn't do a single thing to earn this commission, because I knew what I want, how much I was willing to pay, and all he did was greet me when I walked in. I haven't heard a single word from him since the day I had to nag him for the order number. A week after they cashed my deposit check.

Sorry to be long winded, but my actual question is... Who do I talk to next? Is a sales manager high enough up the ladder to help me, or do I need to take this up with some other position?

Start with the Sales Manager. If he doesn't help you then contact GM. Give the dealership a chance before you contact GM.

You could threaten to cancel the whole order and go to another dealer as a negotiating tool to get a better deal for the lack of respect that you got.

I highly recommend talking to the sales manager and getting a new salesman.

That being said, I'm not sure about Chevrolet, but Infiniti bases their programs and incentives on the RDR (retail DELIVERY reporting) date. If the car is not there for you to take delivery, I'm not sure that they can dummy up paperwork to "lock in" a rate or incentive. If the dates on the paperwork didn't match the date that you actually took delivery of the car, the programs would not be honored.

Chevy may have different rules, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

All is good. Spoke with the sales manager this morning, and he took care of everything. Did all the paperwork this evening. Got the low financing and was able to use my private offer. Don't know what will happen to the salesperson, but I hope he doesn't get the commission.

Good job, I'm guessing the commission is the least of that salesperson's worries by the time the manager gets done with him.

I don't understand why some sales people don't get it. The week I bought my Camaro, which was Labor Day week last year, I went back to the dealer where I bought my Mazda from except it was their Chevy branch if that is the right way to say it. Told the sales guy I wanted a 1LT RS with Automatic, no sunroof. He had one but he wanted a credit app before I could even take it out. That didn't cut it with me, I am a return customer from your network of lots and that is how I get treated. No thanks.

That Saturday morning I decide to go to the small Chevy dealer on the other side of town, never dealt with them personally before but heard great things about them. They had an orange 1LT RS with the exact options I wanted in the showroom. I asked to drive it, sure thing sir just need your license and give us 15 minutes to get it out, they had to move a Corvette and Avalanche first. Drove it, got the price I wanted on trade and the car and 5 hours later I was the proud owner of a Camaro!

Fast forward to Tuesday, I get a call from the salesman at the big dealer who had pissed me off just a couple days before. We saw you were a returning customer and we decided to waive the credit app for you. I told you I was but you were such a d*** about it I went to dealer Y and bought one without all the BS. His response was GD that is the 5th one we have lost to them since June. You think?

I hope your future dealings with them are much better. Alan, I'm sorry to hear that story as well. I'm glad things worked out for you in the end.

Jeff, as I stated above. Once I spoke with the sales manager, all was taken care of to my satisfaction within a few hours. My main question was whether a sales manager had the authority to help or if I needed to go a different route.
