I was stationed in Kansas a few years ago... always amazed to drive through massive numbers of fireflies, and seeing the goo continue to glow for many minutes after the windshield had decimated the things...

I live in Lawton and use I-44 all the time and Highway 7 everyday for work... my cars look trashed after one highway trip, no matter what. I try to keep them clean but damn bugs

edit: btw, you really don't want to see how my car looks after driving to Amarillo and back yesterday.

We have black clouds of goo filled pests. Love bugs are a bane on this planet and more importantly my car. And may I add this happens twice a year....

Edit: here's what my car looked like after a relatively short drive, sorry for the large size:

WOW. That's gotta be some of the worst bug "damage" I've ever seen...I drove from NJ to Georgia and back last year for a school competition and you definitely get some monsters of bugs down south at night. Anytime we stopped for gas we spent just as much time filling up as we did cleaning off the windshield

When trucks pull into trucks stops after passing through areas like that, birds are waiting... they will even follow the new arrivals to their parking location, then the birds grasp the grill with their feet, and feast away on the smorgasbord of easy pickings...

Well...I guess I do always have something to be thankful for. It's not bug guts AND bird poop.
