If I Hear This One More Time...

So we had two Camaro's in and already delivered. All of our inbound orders are all SRE orders.

I have customers that are walking in and asking, "So, where's the new Camaro?". We don't lie to the customer and explain that we have our 1 dealer car coming next week but always offer to place an order and approx. time of delivery.

What do you think the next response from the customer is?

"How do you expect me to order a car and not sit in it or even see it??"

Well, all of you fine gentlemen and ladies did that. Why is this guy have to get an attitude? Of course, the obligatory "That's why GM is in trouble..." also has to spill out of his piehole.

Yeesh!

I'm done for now.

well im not going to take sides but it is a pretty big leap of faith for a NORMAL person to purcahse a $30000.00 car without seeing it in person. You are basically comparing apples and oranges. Anyone who has 'pre ordered' is deffinately a fanatic. Most people that you get now are not going to be fanatics they are just your average joe curious to know if this is going to be his next car purchse so naturally he wants to look at the car. If he was a fanatic it would already be ordered and he would comming on here on a daily basis looking for even the tiniest of insight to when his precious car would arrive.....

As for the attitude, its simple, people suck....

You are correct. You guys are absolutely ABNORMAL .

It's just frustrating. We take factory orders all the time and people do so without ever driving or even sitting in the cars beforehand.

Just venting. Thanks for listening.

It's fustrating for everyone. A lot of folks are still waiting for their cars, and they are tired of all the BS they get from their dealers. You might be a honest dealer, but not all of them are.

Folks who put orders in now, are going to have to wait, or pay way above sticker if they want to drive away with the showcar. It is common sense.

A lot of us knew this car was going to be hot and put our orders back in the winter, so you can understand how fustrating it gets.

I worked the GM Booth at SEMA as well as the GM Performance Parts booth at the PRI show.

We had the GM Performance Parts LS7 Concept Camaro at both shows. I spent a total of 8 days around the car.

I ordered one and never sat in one (could have but didn't bother) until mine arrived on Tuesday.

Us abnormal people were going to buy one anyway......

Mine is in the dealers showroom so he can show it off to a few prospective customers.

Give everyone a few months, they will be everywhere

Robin

You guys didn't get your dealer car last week during the Mets game promo? Thats ridiculous, you are a large prominent Chevy dealer on one of the islands main roads.

I know that feeling, as a customer who supports the company i hear that, or I just get called an idiot or crazy for buying the car, and that I'm "never going to get it" "GM is gonna go under before your car is built" "Why dont you just buy a Challenger".

Trust me its just as bad on the enthusiast end.

I've also ordered one without sitting in one.....I've driven some of the most uncomfortable and roughest Army vehicles.....Is CAMARO going to be a comfortable ride?...hell ya!... Do I like the car?.....Oh YA! I'll have all the time I need to sit in it and wrap my @$$ in IOM leather.

I definitely think there is a problem with GM, I don't think anyone is doubting that. I talked to my dealer yesterday and he's ripped because my camaro and the other guys camaro should have been here by now, or been built anyway. But getting pissed off at everyone isn't going to get you what you want any faster, its going to make people not want to deal with you ya know? So these people that come into the dealerships...show them where the Miata's and Yugo's are and send them on there way; we don't want them in Camaro's anyway!!! LOL!! I wanna say tho, its awesome knowing that I have a Camaro on order, it will be here when it gets here; I've waited since I was 12 to have one and being 31 now...a couple more months doesn't seem that long of a wait?

No offense to anyone driving Yugo's or Miata's...everyone needs a car, I'm sure you love yours!!!

The car we got at CitField was an extra unit that we donated to charity to get (and also part of the advertising association). GM didn't think it was fair for us to have two at once while most only had one. That's why we're getting this unit.

Well gues I'm normal then. I love everything about the car, but I haven't seen one in real life. I need to sit in one and drive it before I finally decide. I'm sure I will love it though.
