Need feedback: 2012 Camaro SS/RS LS3 Cam and Gears.

I already have AR LT's, Off road X, MBRP, Affraid CAI and custom tune by Torq Racing. I was going to go with a whipple but the price have decided to do Cam and Gears and use the rest of the $$ for susp and body upgrades. My real question here I guess would be with a not insane Cam but more than mild and 3.91's what kind of performance gains should I really expect. Not talking numbers I mean real life!!! Am I gonna crush most sport cars in a rolling race type scenario.

I don't know about "most" sports cars, but you will definitely enjoy the combination of gears and a cam. If it's primarily a street car/daily driver, as opposed to a weekend warrior at the drag strip, I suggest going with a cam that gives better average (useable) power, as opposed to a large one that's all peak power. If you're ever down in Broward, let me know and I'll let you take a ride in mine for an idea.

I have CAI intake. LT kooks with HF cats Borla touring and Vmax TB. I will tell ya all of them are nice and fun. But the LPE 3.91s are a absolute blast. The gears make the car a LOT of fun. JRE is the maestro of LS3!!
From a roll i can walk away from my friends 2011 5.0 Mustang and he has a cold air intake and tune. Before the gears we where neck and neck depending on the shifts. But on the air strip from a dig he kills me for 60 foot or so before I pull around him at the top of 2nd

So if you get 3.91s and a cam may look in to some new tires and some suspension mods.

Well thats the plan. Instead of the 9K+ for the supercharger package, 5k on the Cam Gears then complete BMR package then maybe HAVOK kit. Was just wondering realistically is this worth it. I dont want to be all show and no go. Just dont want to spend 5K and still get smoked. And FlDRUMMER thank you if Im down that way I definately will.

Just a suggestion if you are planning on doing FI in the future, most people wouldn't suggest the 3.91s once you get up in the 550-600 range if you want to hook up better go with the 3.70s. Thats what I am doing. Still lower than stock but not so low you are burn the tires off everytime you get on the gas.

Well I'll I'll be having Eric and the boys at Torq do the 470RWH Cam package. This truly is an addiction. Lol but after this im done. Just would rather do everything right then just drop a SC in.

Don't you already crush most sports cars?

Your question is difficult to answer. I think a better way to look at it is 1/4 mile times. A mild cam and gears will probably take your car from a mid to high 12 second car to a low 12 second car, if that helps at all. Some head work will get you into the 11's.

I am working on doing everything right as well, it includes a supercharger but that will be on a forged LSX in the future, why I only went with 3.70s. Once you start modding you will be happy for awhile then want more, happy for awhile then want more. It's really like crack.

Thank you for the responses and I've taken my fair share of sport Mercedes and Beamers on the road. I've been told about what to expect quarter mile wise. But I'm setting up the car more for handling than drag. Just want to be sure 5K in mods and complete suspension upgrade will be more than yea the car feels
A little faster. And I know it's soo addicting. But after this I'm going to Camaro AA. Ha ha
