What your saying is true.
It's just That Tony Roma was referring to actually having to do something to your car to better your ¼ mile times. So having to push the valve to release air or adding some with the pump IS having doing modification (or work) to your car but technically, it's basicaly no modifications as per OEM standard.
Do I have it right now?

He wouldn't even have mentioned changing tire pressure as "basically stock" Pretty sure he was referring to the DR's they where running that day.

Still need clarification from the source whether the 11.93 time was with the DR's or stock.

I don't thing so since we all know that changing your tires to DR is not consider as having a STOCK car anymore.

I love the Camaro and always will. I am going to buy a ZL1 no matter what the numbers (although I do want the one with the most HP) period. That being said the ZL1's numbers have always and continue to be all over the place and confusing. The ZL1 is only tested/reviewed when at a GM sanctioned event ie Indy Motor Ranch and VIR. PLEASE GM or someone in the media can we get a independent test of the ZL1 BONE STOCK.
Exactly. Henessey did. Ran Mid 12's. Low 12's with DR's. Folks here didn't like the results though. Said something had to be wrong with the car and pointed to the dyno as proof FWIW, I've seen several bone stock ZL1's run out at Houston Raceway Park and their best times are what the Henessey Camaro ran. As with any totally stock car, the numbers at the track acheived by "Joe Public", are going to be higher than what is published in the mags. Bank on it.

It doesn't seem to matter What times on What tires or what videos, or what statements by whom are made.

None of you will be neither happy, nor satisfied that what you see or hear is the real thing, the truth, or accurate.

You will ALWAYS manage to find some descrepiency (sp) somewhere with something.

You NEVER seem to be satisfied with ANYTHING.

It's true, I have yet to see a 12.9 on my Stock Camaro SS. but I'm no pro at drag racing....anyway...Is 11.9 not good enought for this car?
I think it is.

As I've stated multiple times about my stating multiple times. I'm not hating the ZL-1 and I honestly hope it did run 11.xx on OEM tires... I and many others like me in this thread are just concerned about the discrepancies between the written and the video.

Yep - that's my point. You're not a pro. (Neither am I by any means) Thus, times will be slower. And yes - 11.9 is good enough. It's plenty quick.

I agree, but redline said it had a run with 12.04 as STOCK, then it later was shown to be with DR's.

I have a ZL1 on order since Nov. I just want clear facts, not this confusion.

And you know what I think about the ZL1, it's that it might be possible for an amateur to actually achieve those numbers of at least getting closer to them then with the SS.

another pathetic thread of people questioning what the car can do...grow up and enjoy the car for what it is.....AWESOME. I can personally attest to it. Its all around fun. If you want it to be faster then make it faster. For 2012 it wins. I'm sure next year the GT 500 will win....the following year who knows....just enjoy what we are getting....from both camps....its all good.
