12.7 eh? Is that better or worse than the 12.9 that R&T ran in a ZL1? Can you help me with the math here, I can't figure it out.
Well the 12.7 was the Motor Trend corrected time. So when you factor in MC squared times the evolution of the sun at or around sea level you get a 13.7 uncorrected time and that my friend is worse than the 12.9 R&T got with the ZL1........ Math done !!

Which one of these is more plausible:

1. MT ran a 12.1, which corrects to around an 11.4. Then didn't mention that 11.4, for some reason, despite the fact that it would be ENORMOUS news. And for some odd reason they decided to correct the times on the Boss (like they do on EVERY test), but decided NOT to correct the times on the ZL1. Despite the fact that being at 4400' elevation makes it completely necessary to correct your times if you want to make ANY kind of meaningful comparison to times from other cars/locations. Also a little bit odd is that they ran a corrected time of 11.4, yet virtually everyone else on the face of the planet is running 12.0, or 12.4, or 12.5, or 12.9. Kinda crazy that Hennessey couldn't do better than 12.5 while MT did a second faster, isn't? What'd he do, have his grandmother lay down his track times?

Or scenario 2:

The guy thought it'd run a corrected 11.9, so while the camera was running he said so, and the boobs in editing never caught the error.

or 3: The guy had looked at the portable weather station earlier, and knew what he needed to run to run a corrected 11.999, but between then and his best run the temp/humidity/barometric pressure changed enough that it DIDN'T end up correcting to an 11.99, it ended up correcting to a 12.1 (the 12.1 that is the official video time AND the official MT written article time).

You're right 2nd, the first scenario is clearly the most plausible. It makes perfect sense that MT would decide NOT to correct the ZL1s times, despite being at 4400' elevation, and despite the fact that they correct ALL their times.

And of course, even if you were right (which you're clearly not), a corrected 11 still isn't really an 11, is it? So as of right now, the only people on the face of the planet that claim to have run an 11 is GM. Correct?

Whens your ZL1 show up? Have you picked it up already?

My ZL1 shows up when it is available in convertible form and when I finish paying for my Denali and SS Camaro..... so sometime between 2013/2014. When do you pick up your 2013 Shelby?

Words alone don't win races...

The ZL1 IS fully a match for the existing GT 500 in a straight line, and kicks its hiney on any road course...ANY... It certainly remains to be seen how 662hp gets transmitted through those 285s. With the weight-to-power ratio it supposedly has, there shouldn't be a production car in the WORLD it can't handle, right? (After all, there isn't a single NHRA Stock or Super Stock class it qualified for with its sub-6.00 lb/hp rating. FACT). Hell, it should trounce a Cobra Jet...

But we certainly ALL know THAT won't be the case...and THAT is Ford's real insecurity. Pro Street...when the world has turned to Pro Tour!

A One-trick Pony...
Well..... at the risk of censorship, I must say if the Mustang was faster it wouldn't make any difference. I BELIEVE what Carroll Shelby says is correct.

But I am wondering..... how many words per minute can you Ford fans type?

Get everything right, and the ZL1 hits 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and passes 1320 feet in 12.3 seconds at 119 mph—or better, as the cold and dusty track at Inde was less than ideal for acceleration runs. Few cars costing less than $60,000 can claim such feats.
This is from the Car and Driver test of the ZL1 at the same track as Motor Trend. Is this a corrected time too, or is it ok to believe this info in print?

It's corrected, obviously.

Define "valued contributor.". It seems anyone who doesn't quite drink the full glass of ZL1 flavored koolaid is branden a bad one. I understand if you feel you must believe everything GM spoon fed you to justify your $60k purchase but some of us are open enough to argue against even a car we like. Keep looking away but the simplest fact is, you were told this ZL1 is the GT500 destroyer but there is no limit to GM's opportunity to prove that (thousands of GT500s out there I beat on, easy to grab one of them to test against) but what do we get? Nothing but smokescreen and result only GM can seem
to produce. These are facts. But like I said earlier, it is what it is and until someone out here in the real world run a stock ZL1 bought from a dealer (not one for
GM garage) posts a su 12 sec time....it is what it is...

Pictures of a small flock were recently posted. Source says ford owned exec/mag cars.

Some people have mid may delivery dates assuming no extended q-hold

Why do you say that? I think everyone just wants the unbiased truth. There have been many unbiased 3rd party "stock" runs that weren't very close to these runs (save number1gm).

Why is it so hard to just run it and give a time? Why the shroud of secrecy?

Props to number1gm for being the first forum member to do his own homework on the car!!

Full disclosure, I ran my Terminator on KB 19lb boost to 11.49 @129 on 10450 DA in Pueblo CO. I ran my '09 Shelby with pulley/slicks to 12.1 @ 121 on 9450 DA at the same track. Both with DR @ 1.75-1.85 60' time.

This post is approved by Absolute Vodka!!! (commission anyone)?
