Need some advice on Headers

I'm thinking about buying some OBX Headers but i wanted to go cat-less but the only problem i have with this is that i don't really want a CEL. I don't want to void the warrranty.

Is there something i can do that i won't void warranty? Thanks

Changing headers with or with out cats will through a cel and void warranty only if the dealer can prove the issue with the car is directly from the headers. You will have to get a tune anyway and this will turn off the cel.

Try o2 extenders, I think solo sell some. Iam using spark antifoulers, Iam still working on getting mine just right.

That's not what he asked. Quit trolling with these shameless plugs.

NOW to the OP. I installed mine this weekend. I used no 02 extensions and haven't thrown a code yet. Didn't fool with the steering columns or remove the spark plugs. Any more questions just let me know.

Another one of "these" threads.

You WILL get a CEL. It took mine about 1200 miles, but it eventually showed up. You don't HAVE to tune. It runs better and gets rid of the code, but your car won't explode without it.

If you don't want warranty problems, don't do anything at all. What do you think your dealer will say if you show up with LTs with an engine problem? If he wants, he'll refuse work right then and there on headers alone (with or without a tune). If he's cool with the headers, then the tune likely won't matter to him.

The warranty issue is not black and white. If you aren't comfortable with it, or can't afford to repair the car, don't do anything at all.

Mine lasted 75 miles or there abouts..CEL is inevitable regardless of brand..too much airflow and the rear o2 is adjusted (moved back)...

My advice is always to not do headers until you are ready to get a tune and do not get a tune until you are ready to walk away from the warranty. Do it right and do it once.

Shorties are the only way to "stay legal" really.....

I think that one day somebody will create a LT that is 50 state legal and causes no codes and that guy will make millions on the design.

But I also believe in the Boogie Man still too.......
