Exactly what I was looking for. Thx

I just got mine and the instructions talked about a panel on the back of the mirror.

I am running into the same problems as those with a 2012 Camaro and a stock Rear View Camera setup. I installed the black wire into the black slot and the red/pink wire into the red/pink slot. I have a 2012 ZL1 and bought the MIRRORTAP and BLENDMOUNT setup. The V1 will not turn off when the ignition turns off...I can't seem to locate the switched wire ...any help would be appreciated.

Ivan. I've had a V1 since 1995. It kept me a ticket virgin through 6 One Lap of Americas driving a hot rodded '62 vette. We were almost never running a legal speed. My wife and I both have one now I could not be happier with the V1. Other detectors I have owned, BEL 8500(?) their top end 5 years ago, and a K40 that I ran in Porsche 928 S4 (guards red).
V1 is the best. K40 was close but did not have the same range with instant on.

I cannot get my Safe-n Sound1 to work with my 1LS with the instructions on this post. :(

The Safe-n Sound1 wire is OK, as when I hooked it directly to the battery and ground with some extra wire just to test, the V1 works.

I tried for over an hour and I just can't get it to work. Colors match what is here on the post (red to red, next to the green for hot, and black to the black/white striped one). I guess I'm not pushing them in far enough, but they seem to be in pretty far.

Is the 2012 1LS with the standard mirror (has On-Star) different somehow?

I'm ready to just say screw it and wire it to the fuse box. For the time I spent, I could have been done.

TIA

Just used this write up yesterday...Was going to do the usual install (run along headliner, down the A-pillar to the fuse box) as I have in my other cars but found this post instead. Really glad I did as it simplifies things significantly. Although, like someone else mentioned...I have 2 PINK wires (not red) in my early production 2010 SS. Otherwise, the writeup was dead on. Thanks!

I know this thread is kind of old, but I just wanted to say to OP for posting this write up! I followed it this morning to mount my V1 to my 2011 2SS/RS and it simplified the process tremendously.

The wires in my mirror matched the pictures perfectly - the only difference was my wire cover piece is 1-piece, and I had to dremel a little notch in the plastic to get everything to fit when I was putting it all back together.

But I'm very happy with how it came out... Very clean install!

Great glad it could be of some help to you!

My V1 is one of the best purchases I've ever made I rotate it between 3 cars using these Blend Mounts and it has always kept me aware of what is around me and more than paid for itself!

Take Care!

Has anyone successfully powered a V1 system through the review mirror in a 2012 camaro?
