What is the minimum ft-lbs on that torque wrench? The small bolts on the top can not take much, and will break if you torque it too much. I think the big bolts are 15 ft-lbs, and the small ones I would just do snug with a ratchet.

I used this how to from Tracy. You do not have to remove the top Plenum cover unless you want to clean in there and skip the port matching part.

It's 18 lbs of torque actually. I caveman'ed the one bolt that goes down into the engine.

I let it sit overnight, because well it was the weekend, and I do that with every part that requires some sort of adhesive related assembly.

If you have the opportunity to let it sit and cure up, it will only make it better. Not required, but facing the facts, you are placing a phenolic piece between two aluminum pieces. The surfaces of each facet is not going to mate up perfectly like it does on aluminum to aluminum. So any sort of gasket/rtv is going to help in the mating up of the items.

Of those I've installed, the first ones didn't take any rtv and worked just fine. I've rechecked them and they are still not leaking that I can tell of. Of course I tightened them up really fine.

Hope that this helps those of you installing to be better informed about it.

Fire away....these are awesome parts for the LLT!

Smartass........I used a torque wrench this time for the main ones. The one in the back you can't tighten it much anyway by hand.

Ok so I can't get the bolts in the back to move. When you're facing the engine from the front of the car do I work them to my right or left? Idk which way to go and it could technically be either depending on how the engine was built. Do I turn to my right like normal or is it backwards and I turn left? This is maddening.

The bolts get turned to the right because you are working from behind them.

Told you those bolts are a bitch!

If your looking towards the windshield from the facia, you turn them to your right.

Left loosey, righty tighty but you are technically working from the tip of the bolt so it's opposite.

If facing the motor the back bolts will turn out clockwise or pull the wrench to your right to loosen. If looking from inside the car it would be just the opposite. Counter-clockwise or pull the wrench left.

Hope it makes sense.

Do you have a piece of pipe to slide over the end of the wrench to add leverage? The wrench handle should be moving to your right.
