I get it, learned about the right hand rule in physics. Sadly that was about the only thing I learned in physics, o well. I bet that explanation will def help out some people.

I'll bite....

keeps the intake manifold from getting hot and heating up the incomming air. So thus, the air stays cools and performance is increased....proven to provide very nice gains in the midrange and upper midrange rpms.

Plus I'd think the increase in runner length probably adds some benefit as well...

agreed, but the TQ gain is minimal at just under 1/2 an inch in comparison to 1". with the thinner insulators. the gains primarily come from the intake air temps being lowered with the thinner insulators. the thicker insulators provide both, air temp isolation from engine heat and the longer runner length which shifts the TQ band to the left.

I agree as well, thanks for fleshing things out. The left-shift in the torque band is something we definitely need. I can't wait to install mine.

On gains, 3 different shops tested them, 3 different cars (bone stock or as near bone stock as possible...none had tunes) 3 different dynos, in 3 different locations in the country and all found 20 rwhp and between 25-28 RWTQ. You can also order the 1"version if you wish...same price. We have NOT done the 1" testing to see if in faact it will add more TQ as we have attributed the gains to the 30-35* temp drops. If anyone local wants to spend a few hours on the dyno for before and after let me know, but they are in stock now. We also have a version of the plenum spacer we need to test on the same LLT based car.

All I gotta say is that when I went to pass someone on the highway yesterday it felt like a jet engine kicked in at about 4k RPMs. Threw me back in my seat. Loveeeeee itttt!

Wait, there are now 2 different sized ice-olators? Also a plenum spacer? When, add me to that list!

You have almost the exact engine mods as me, so you really need to consider adding the RX breather. It's a cheap mod but I swear that little thing made my car feel SO much better! Here is my post:

Oh for God's sake! Will the mods never end? Worst thing I ever did was find this forum! Looks like I'll be looking this up next.
