I am 25 (was single at the time), had never driven a RWD or Manual car... seemed like a logical decision. And the rest is history
All 380 miles of it

I always liked them since they came out but never really thought about them past that. I always drove pickups since I got my license (7 years now). I bought a 2005 Silverado Crew Cab in January 2010. By 2012 I had sold my ATV and was only using the truck to haul everyone else stuff. I have another truck, a '93 Chevy. Just an old worn out toy but it reliable...
So 3 weeks ago I went to the local dealer to get an airbag sensor for my Silverado and I replaced the front right wheel hub that same week. When I was leaving I saw the big row of Camaros out front right on the street. I was like 'Man, I really need to drive on finally'. That's it. After work the next afternoon I drove straight to the dealership. Over the next two weeks I drove a few cars and checked out all the interior colors, exterior colors, etc. Researched...and decided I didn't really need a crew cab truck as a daily. I traded it in on the Camaro in my sig. It's the same color combo my truck (Victory Red w/ dark interior). That was 3 weeks ago. My first actual car ever. So nice to not be a driving a truck everyday.

I have always been in love with the Camaro. I grew up in the garage with my dad and when I hit my senior year of high school, he refinaced his truck and bought me a teal 1991 Camaro RS for christmas. The car was beautiful and the day he gave it to me was the only time I have ever seen my father cry. We worked on that car together anytime something broke. When it came time to trade up, it was my dad who test drove my black 1996 Z28 M6 with me in the passenger seat. I wanted a manual and couldnt even drive one. And it was my dad who taught me to drive that manual in two hours so I could drive it to work. And of course the two of us worked on ti together as well. Had that Z28 for almost 11 years. The husband ended up breaking it and his trans am right before being deployed to afghanistan. At the same time my father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I sacrificed the Z28 so I could dump all the money into the husbands Trans Am. Me and the Trans Am would make the 5 hour drive north to see dad and do some repairs together. After 9 mos. the husband finally got to come home on R&R and dad went into the hospital. My husband was looking for some ways to cheer me up and the local GM dealership I knew had the camaro I had been dreaming of sitting on its lot. So just for fun we decided to go give it a test drive. That car was one of the few things that brought a smile to my face. (2011 had been a horrible year) We left the dealership without the car and about an hour later my mom called to tell me dad had passed away. I was heartbroken and hysterical and trying to get ready to go up north. My husband Lath had other ideas. The next morning before we left town he went and signed the contract at the dealership and gave me my IOM 2011 Camaro SS/RS M6 and told me it was because he wanted so badly to make me feel better and that he knew that car could make me smile again. Now I have this beautiful camaro that everytime I look at or drive I will always think of how I have not only the best husband in the world but I will always think of my dad who bought me my first camaro, taught me how to drive my second camaro, and is the reason I love cars. This Camaro means alot to me and it wont be leaving my possession ever if I can help it. So any future kids will just have to deal lol.

When I was about 9 years old I would always be hanging around with my big brother while he worked on his 57 Chevy's so I've been a Chevy girl for a long time. I have owned a couple of el camino's and a monte carlo, and my last car was a 2005 cobalt. I got the bug to stop in Appleway Chevrolet one fine July afternoon, just to see about meybe trading up to the SS Cobalt, or a SSR, just shopping, y'know. I told this to the salesman and we went walking out of the showroom past a row of Camaro's. Black, Grey, Black Grey, Blah, Blah and then... the sun broke through the clouds and shone down brightly on Imperial Blue Metallic. I stopped in my tracks and checked it out, I used to own a blue and silver Harley. The blue and silver Camaro was stunning.
Observant salesman that he was, he asked the question "Do you want to take it for a drive?" "Hell yeah" says me. It was love at first gear, I drove it home that day, waved buh-bye to my little yellow cobalt, went home to show my hubby. What does he ask in a sarcastic fashion? "Did you even test drive a mustang?" (Ford fool that he is) and I said "What for?" ![]() That's my story. |

Like anyone else, i fell in love with the new look camaro in Transformers and could only wish and hope one day i'd have one. Back in february i got a new job working in a fiberglass plant and my current car has all the dust and grime from a days work and i also use that car to pick up my 7 month old son, so i began looking for a second vehicle to use so my son wasn't breathing all the dust in. I started leaning towards a 3rd gen, just love the body style and wanted something sporty for a drive on a nice day. Well no sooner do i start looking, i recieved a phone call claiming i "won" the grand prize of a Synergy Series and a trip to Talladega. It was 3 days before April Fools that i got this call and thought that one of my friends was pulling my leg, but no, it was legit. I just got back from the trip monday with my fiance and i went yesterday morning and put my order in for the car, 8 to 12 weeks from now, i will have my car and i couldn't be happier of the timing of all this

Saw the concept pictures in 2006? Thought it looked sweet, had T/A's in the past, wanted a muscle car again.
Bought one of the first 10,000 built and loved it for 3 years until everyone had one. Not a big deal that everyone has one, but everyone that has one seems to also be a giant douchebag in my town. (A common trend if you start reading a lot of stories on here.) Started looking for a 70 Chevelle about 2 years ago, just found one, probably selling the Camaro, or turning it into my daily driver. End of story. |

my story started in November. at the time had three cars. mine, wife's, and family car. about 2 months before, my 20 yr old daughter had decided to move out. come November, whatever POS she was driving dies. wanting to be nice, my wife lets her have her car to use, takes my car, and leaves me with the family car to drive. now at this time my daughter is (like most late teen early twenty's) completely broke and having a hard time getting money to get another car. so, wife wants to give daughter my car to keep (14 yrs old, but I still love it), get her car back, and just let me make family car into DD. No way I'm agreeing to that. then it dawns on me, give wife's car to daughter, put wife in family car, buy me new car. it took me about 2 months to actually talk her into it, but in the end I got what I wanted.
as for the camaro, before I had even committed to buying another car, I was just looking around on the internet at stuff. because I have a 4DS, and one kid has moved out and the other two are 19 and 17 respectively, I decided to check out the sports/pony/muscle cars. when I saw the camaro, and how reasonably priced it was I more or less had to have one and went from looking to shopping almost overnight. |

I saw the 5th gen Camaro concept at GM Carlisle in 2007. I told myself that I would order a new
Summit White coupe as soon as they were available. Imagine my disapointment when summit white was delayed for several months. My SS was finally built for me on 8/4/09 and in my garage on 8/21/09.

First Camaro was 1970 SS (Pic on 2d Gen) picture string. Then went Mustang II- aghhhh
![]() . Then had an '84 Camaro 350 ci. Nice .Got a 1993 Vette, then a 2004 Vette and a 2008 Z06. ![]() A few Germans in between. I saw the new Camaro at the 2009 NY Car show and fell in love with it. Despite all the complaints I see on the site, this is one heck of a car for the money. Best part - you can actually do mods with it!
