Great video, I had my wife next to me watching it with me. Her comment while shaking here head was "Boys and thier Toys" and asked are those modes your getting done on your car? I just smiled. Watching the video and the Z going down the track I could hear the shifts of the gears and was convinced it was a manual. When I went back to the first page to take a look about the info on the car I was surprised to see it was an automatic.

No doubt just proves this car is a fun car and future legendary status. Unless someday I get a deal on a ZL1 I will hold onto my SS until next gen comes out for both Vette and Camaro and see which one I like best.

this is the same argument Cobra Jet owners used when GM got the Copo to run 9.50s from day one... "Cobra Jets have been running 8s"... yeah, on 2 power adders, in reality, the fastest Stock Eliminator(which is the rule set GM tested under) in a Cobra Jet was 9.37.... no doubt GM was slower, but on day 2 when you run a 9.51 and within 2 seconds of the existing world record... the competition gets nervous

I just finished reading their mod list, I'm surprised they used the stock S/C. So getting those times with that setup is REALLY good. Lot of money but anyone who wants to do things like this will have to spend it; Ford, Chevy or whatever you have. You have to pay to play as they say.

It looks like the only things they didn't touch was the crank, rods, pistons and trans other then a converter. Getting some sort of shift kit in there will help also. Other then that as the HP goes up you will find the weak part of the drivetrain eventualy. But yea that is a bad a$$ car. The auto tranny will make it very consistent at the track.

There are no weak parts in the drivetrain. Thats the great part.

Was it towed or driven to the track? Is it a daily driver? What is the gas mileage if a DD?

Your smarter then this I hope. The car in the vid is around 700rwhp as of now. What do you think will happen when the HP levels are increased and increased some more? At some point as the HP goes up something will break. You don't really think this powertrain will take whatever the speed shops throws at it and not have anything eventually break do you? Throw enough power at it and something will break; this goes for all cars not just the ZL1. How do you find the limits of a combo until you push it till it breaks; then you know what you can get away with before you need to upgrade whatever broke.

GM made a good car here but if your saying there's no weak parts in the drivetrain your just kidding your self.

I have seen a few DD Toyota Supras running 9's with Twin Turbo 6 cyl. But of course they have an additional $25-30k+ of engine work done....and weight about 600lbs less.
