The guy with the buffer is probably the same guy that applied the ultra coat. I wouldn't let him near the car. Live with the swirls or hand rub them out yourself. If they break through the clearcoat (easy to do) you are hosed. They will not give you a new car if you don't like it.

+1 for Adams polishes, great stuff. Just look at the testimonials. That dealership stuff is a gimmick.

It is nothing but a wax job put on by some high school drop out smoking the funny stuff. They put that on my PT Cruiser, and I refused to pay for it. Even so, they said it would still be covered and to bring it back every 6 months for the "re-application" for free. Well..to get the re-application, I had to go to the dealer to make an appointment, then go back at the appointment time and leave the car for a full day. No loaner. Oh, and by the way, I had to bring the car freshly washed with no dirt or dust on it. Fat chance I was going to do any of that. A good bottle of Mequiar's Gold Class took about 20 minutes and did the job just fine..By me, and I know it was done right.

UltraCoat cost the dealer $25 and you paid $250.
Why would a new car need a coat of wax?
Part of new car ownership is the joy of waxing it yourself.

The cost associated with it is for the warranty, not the product or the application.

Please provide facts here people. It is NOT simply a coat of wax. Wax doesn't come with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. It does provide better protection against environmental damage and fading than even the best wax, but will not protect against swirls or scratches.

The misinformation around here from people is staggering. I would be more than happy to share via PM with any one here verified costs and documentation on this type of product vs WAX.

I would love to know what this super secret product is, I don't care what the cost is, but if not a wax, I would presume some kind of sealant.

My dealer threw that in free when I bought the car. It was called first place finish or something like that. You go in twice a year for a re-application for 5 years.
