There are a lot of popular soaps in the forum, including Adams. The Washing and detailing section would be a better place to investigate detailing products. I visit this section almost daily.

I wash it myself. Touchless car wash Chemicals are too strong and the black painted hood dome needs special care: clean water, soft brush, clean microfiber towel(I wipe the dome first). I would be careful with the power washer - I just use the hose with a nozzle, there's enough presure there.
Soft brush? Never take a brush to your cars paint. There's no such thing as a soft brush.

This brush was in a wash kit from costco - it's extremely soft, has long hair and it's rounded. Not sure what else you would use...

Its a tradeoff. I can't always wash the car in a given week. Too busy with work, kids, etc. my car is a DD, so if i have a nice layer of salt or other grime on it, it goes to the laser wash for a quick rinse. I have a black car. Is the paint perfect? No. Is it good enough? Yes. When there's enough time, it goes to the detail shop where most problems go away.

Tips for washing car.

1 Use gardan hose to get the easy stuff off; would avoid using pressure washer.

2 Use automotive soap ment for cars and a white wash rag; any other colored rags have dye in them and could get some dye on paint. I know its picky but true. A biggie make sure you wash your car in the shade, not in the sun.

3 Do not use towels to dry your car. Use a leaf blower to blow dry your car. Remember friction is your enemy, avoid it whenever possable.

4 Use the wax of your choice.

If you really want to do a good job on your car, before you wash it buy a clay bar and use it to remove rail dust or anything else thats on your paint.

Really? Using a pressure is the preferred method by professional auto detailers everywhere... Sure if your using a monster 5000 PSI pressure washer, it's probably not a good idea to get too close, but if you keep a safe distance, you will remove FAR more dirt and grime that a water hose could never come close to doing...

Also, there is a myth that using a pressure washer can cause scratches from the dirt being washed off at high pressure. This simply isn't true...

If your that worried about it then start off at a distance, then work your way closer. Also, you can use a spray foam before rinsing with your pressure washer. Cover your car completely with it and let sit for 5 to 7 minutes. This will help loosen up dirt and grime, and make it easier to remove during your rinse.

Remember, swirl marks and fine scratches are caused mostly during your wash and dry steps, so it is the utmost importance to remove as much dirt and grime as possible off the paint before you start rubbing with your wash mitt. This is why using a pressure is FAR better than a garden hose...

There are several other ways to help prevent swirl marks and scratches, but I'm not going to get into that here. Plenty of discussion about it in the detailing section...

NEVER use a clay bar before you wash your car!!! This is something you do AFTER your car has been thoroughly washed and cleaned...

I have two cats if anyone is interested. Just kill them first. I hate them, but don't like torture.

I've been taking my 06 Vette to the touchless car wash as well as my Camaro and they both look like the day I got them. Neither of them have been sandblasted with dirt particles as others state. Why all the negativity about car washes?
