I don't know man. I'm having a hard time agreeing with you. What if our parents and grand parents said the same thing. World War I, Great Depression, Pear Harbor, World War II, Korea, Cuban Missle Crisis, Kennedy assasination, Vietnam. The list goes on. Crisis has generally brought our country together. No matter how "tough" we think our times are right now, our parents and grandparents had it a lot tougher. I for one have never wanted my government to look out for me, just stop reachin in my pocket.

Forget any specifics -- (car, toaster, beer... etc). You should buy American every chance you get.

I have to say that, sadly, the disease is spreading rapid across this country.

I have no brand loyalty, BUT I will always buy American whenever I can.

I guess they don't say this anymore in school ???

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and justice for all."

Personally, my priorities, in order, are God, Family, Country, Self.

Do you feel the Afghan/Iraq war brought our country closer together? The soldiers that can no longer speak because of it could probably help you select an answer. The previous administration "created" a false crisis invading Iraq on the basis of the country possessing WMD and handling a situation they moreorless generated just about as poorly as the excuse to invade.

Crisis situations need to happen first in order to rally enough support for a strong solution and then the solution needs to be attainable. Seems that the government was banking on the possibility that by going to war with Iraq, the US would rally and the economy would flourish as it has in the past. Not so.

To say that times are not as tough now as opposed to what your grandparents experienced is debatable.

The good news, at least around here is they still say the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools. It is getting more difficult to buy American, but we have owned over 20 vehicles in our household and I am proud to say they have all been American.:flag1:

Buy a Toyota, rob another American of a job.

Buy American and quit selling out. Do your part to support the people in this country....the American workers who have families to support.

Continuing to buy a foreign job b/c it looks like the suburbian thing to do to keep up with the Joneses is what hurts our economy from within.

I know that some people have already posted how they are upset about the government bailout b/c they think it's all management's fault, but you can't make me believe that it was ALL management's fault. If there wasn't such a move to buy JAP, then there couldn't be as much of a downturn in the automaking industries and related suppliers unemployed.

Buying foreign will NEVER do anything GOOD for OUR economy.

your so off its not even funny...i'm not going to discuss this because it has nothing to do with the auto industry or gm...

created a false crisis? dude the whole world thought there were weapons there and some entitities believed those weapons were moved to syria but i'm not going further on this topic but this is a whole other topic and debate that makes no sense on a camaro forum

the economy was not a a rallying cause for the wars...nor an issue as it is today... not to mention shortly after 9/11 gm led the way with the 0% financing and helped our economy right after that incident..

Oh I could debate all night about the hardships we face now vs. hardships 60 years ago. Our generation is spoiled. We don't know what hardship is. Too many of the WWII generation who experienced real hardships, going off to war, air raid drills, food/gas rationing, etc. are no longer with us to remind us. Our hardships are deciding Red Lobster or McDonald's on a Friday night.

amen my brother

this is no where near as bad as the late 70's early 80's

i pray all the time for gm and i know they will make it through this...i just know that with all this environment crap being forced on them its only going to hurt them and with who is calling the shots right now ...that conserns me

i will say this...gm just make it till 2012 and pray for "change"
