I had to miss the first leg of the LSX challenge due to my unexpected failure......So I definitely know it happens.

My point was that if we could just get our "new" folks all there at the same time as our regulars.....it could get really big.

I will do one thing differently though....I will need people to pre-register. I can't handle the stress of going out of pocket for the expenses again and hoping that enough people show up to make it back. We had almost 40% of the people signed up who didn't show....

I'd be interested in something in the fall again. I would have made this one but I was at a 5 car rental at Atco that I committed to last year. Hopefully they will adjust the classes so all can run in the event. Being the 9th fastest wasn't good for anything. I like it when Mike and George buy my dinner. And Stephens dad too on Friday night!!

Awesome run, Juan. Sorry to hear about the clutch. I've broke there before.:( Think I'll bring garlic and holy water to SGMP the next time I run there...plus the AAA card LOL

Actually....we ran the classes differently this time, so that everyone had a chance to win. You would have had a class....but the Quick 8 were all still in the 9's (I think the bump was at 9.89)....so just step it up a little bit more. Easier said than done---I KNOW!!

Hope you will make it in the fall....we'd love to see you again Jamie!!!

BTW---the security really paid off on Saturday night about 1:30 a.m. A couple of punk teenagers came over from the hotel next door and were making a beeline for our cars. They spotted the deputy and hightailed it back next door. They waited about 30 minutes and made another attempt thinking he may have just been doing a regular patrol in the area. This time he chased them down and had a little chat with the parents---told them that if they were trespassing on hotel property again they would take a little ride downtown. That was the last time he saw them.

Gary- they were headed straight for your car. Of course their story was that they just wanted to look at the cars, but the deputy said they definitely looked to up to no good. and wanted nothing to do with the cops.

Regina, I hope you did not end out being out of pocket after this great event. If you were let me know and I will help out as Im sure our fellow attendees will. After all your hard work setting this up you should not have to pay out of your pocket.

Yikes! Regina - That was a good plan you had for our security! We chit-chatted with the officer before hitting the sack. Didn't seem like a fly could go by him, without him zooming in on it.
Also, this year it was better that everyone had a class to run in. Last year, there were 4 of us in the high 10's that were caught in between classes and had been left out of the competition.
Speedster is supposed to be getting his car back from CA and I'm sure many on this board and well as I, who have been following his build and waiting to see that monster, would like to finally see it and then see it run down the track! Go Bruce!

I was covered...but thanks so much. I really appreciate everyone! From now on, I'll just have people pre-register, and that will keep my anxiety level down, and I will know exactly how much I have to work with. It has always worked out, but I've often had a few moments of panic when I was wondering if we were going to make it. I love everybody, but just can't afford to provide all that on my own.

Spread the word though!! We need to make these events bigger and bigger. I always hear that everyone has a great time, so I hope that is true. I'm always open to suggestions that can make this event better and better. I'm definitely going to work on a different pre-party spot....while they were able to accommodate us all, Austin's was just a little too limiting.

Regina,

Carol and I had a blast this time around just like the last time.

We'll be there for any future event. Might even have 2 cars. Carol has been talking about running her car. I see no reason she shouldn't if she wants to. Might have to put a few things on it first. I guess I better start researching Monte Carlo parts.

Thanks again for setting this up. You do a great job.
