I use an infant seat and a convertible facing forward. All good.
I look way cooler dropping off kid at preschool than the dads in minivans! |

I use a toddler seat facing forward, no problem. Also can put one of the cheap 10-15 dollar strollers in back, even with top down.. Now those 150$ brand name heavy strollers won't fit, even with the top up.
Also, when I go over 30mph with the top down, my kid really hates the wind.. So I am thinking about the wind deflector to see if that helps. |

A 5 point roll bar will eventually find its way into my vert before kids appear. I'm going to work with the builder to weld some hardware to it to be able to secure a child seat to the very strong bar in addition to the seatbelt. Kid will survive a crash if I don't lol.

Anyone else able to identify the maker of the seats in post #17? I have pm'd njmike, but not received any answer. It's exactly what I'm looking for.

Sounds like you got your answer, but I'll share mine for further support. Buy the convertible and love it! I went to buy mine and was required by my wife to make sure the kids fit. I have two kids, one 2 and the other 5. I am 6' 2" 240 and the wife is about 5' 4" 130. The dealer let me take a vert home to fit the seats and drive around for the day to see if I could make it work. It did and it has. Although my car is currently in the shop for a collision repair, it is and has been my daily driver. I've had zero problems or discomfort fitting the whole family in for drives. Now, would I want to drive it to Florida from Michigan and back? No, but a couple hours at a time would be no issue. Also, I used standard seats, including a Britax Boulevard and a Graco Nautilus. My son loves it. My daughter is 50/50 on enjoying it. If you have a girl, make sure you leave some extra hair ties in the console to put her hair in a pony when the top is down. Otherwise, you should be golden.

Thanks guys! Will definitely not buy a Camaro as these are $200.000 in Norway. I will however rent one when I'm visiting Dallas for work/holliday. I have booked one for the last week of June. But I will be needing child seats, and they are so well priced in US that I will take them home with me. I see they have evenflo at Walmart, so guess I'll be heading there. Regards.

Hey all, sorry to resurrect an old thread but our daughter has outgrown her infant seat, so when we get the Camaro out in a couple months we'll need a new seat for it. By spring she'll be about 17 months, currently about 22lbs and 30" tall, technically tall/heavy enough to be legal forward facing but wouldn't mind keeping her rear facing for another 6 months or so. The Uppababy Mesa we used last year worked great and left plenty of room for my wife in the passenger seat, I'm hoping to find a next step up solution that will do the same.
We bought a Recaro Performance Ride convertible for the trailblazer and my truck that works well, but I'm not sure it would fit in the Camaro, probably wont have warm enough weather to put the top down and try it for a couple more months. What seats brands/models are everyone using that work well? Pictures would be great. Thanks!

You guys all got it easy. It's law in Canada that all child seats use the top tether anchor as a third point connection. Guess what??
Not gonna find an anchor in a convertible Camaro. So I had to get some anchors for another car, pop off that thick plastic piece at the top of the back seats to gain access (very little) behind the seat. Drill holes in the metal bracing to attach new anchors which JUST clear the top when it moves up and down. Worked but was a bit of a PITA. It wasn't going to flywith the wife when I promised some family joyrides and then we noticed that when we got the car home. J |
