*shrugs*
Ford hasn't announced ANY performance metrics.

They must have lost in every single category.

I didn't say that, in fact I don't how they could screw that aspect of the fight up. What I have come to realize, after studying high performance cars, is that both the ZL1 and the Shelby have more power than they can use. Both cars will have hero runs, but their performance numbers overall will not be consistent or repeatable. After the smoke clears, Fords most complete car will still be the Boss 302 Laguna Seca.

We shall see, that is if Ford ever decides to release the numbers. They were so proud of the HP numbers, but now their not making as much noise.

Actions speak louder than words maybe???

Chevy made A LOT of noise spitting out all kinds of numbers and now that the car is out it really isnt living up to the hype for the most part.

Ford may be choosing a different route. Keep everything on the hush and BLOW everyones minds when this beast touches the street.

So it's reasonable to suspect the same will be said of the 1LE or whatever it is Camaro in comparison to the ZL1.

GT500's and ZL1s are hero cars, built for bragging rights, and great performance. But both will suffer terribly on road courses after two laps of racing.

Sorry, I know that issue has been beat to the ground repeatedly.

In what way is the ZL1 underperforming? Be specific, please.

If the 1LE had the MR goodies, you massaged the LS3 to 485/500HP, with a functional cold air scoop and some weight saving reductions ..... YES it would be the most complete Camaro.

I dont think the ZL1 can be compared to the GT500 from a car perspective. The GT500 will beat it badly on a drag strip with the same drivers. And the ZL1 barely edged the Boss out on a road course. I just dont see this being a great comparison.

Just some info I listened to on a Camaro podcast last weekend they interviewed a guy from GM that helped work on the LSA engine in the new Camaro ZL1 and one of the callers asked him what they were going to do now that the 13 GT500 had 662hp and over 600lb ft of torque and his reply was that they have some changes in store for the engine and that the horsepower wars are alive and well and not over yet. That makes me believe there will more than likely be an updated ZL1 with over 700hp in the future.

I'm longing for the ZL1 to go head to head with the '13GT500. The 500 is a beast of a car but i still think the ZL1 will handle business as usual.
I also want to know which one will be the easiest to mod!

What do you mean? The only big numbers they spit out were the HP and Track Time, which both hold true.

I personally have heard at leas 10 times more hype for the 500 than the ZL1. The ZL1 had a staggering track time, Ford keep boasting about the HP in the 500 but it's about how those ponies get to the ground that counts.
Don't get me wrong both these cars are monsters, and as long as they keep putting imports to shame ill sit back with a smile on my face.
