Pros & Cons of Forgestar F14s 20x9s on all fours
Looking to purchase a set of Forgestar F14s in gloss gunmetal with a red pinstripe. I'm considering running 20 x 9s with a 275/40 tire on all four wheels so I can rotate tires. Before I take the plunge, I'd like input on the pros and cons to this setup. Thanks!

You might be able to go a little wider, I run 19 x 9.5's on all 4 corners. The set up works great, being able to rotate extends some tire life. I ran stock 20 x 9's all around with Nitto Invo's, car feels more stable with the same size on all corners. Pro's are the wheels are lighter, so less rotating mass...I can't think of any cons.....
If you buy the Forgestars, I would get from Nineball/DV8motoring.com, he will get your offsets right and is an upfront/honest guy...check his website for pricing...

yup...go 20x9.5 or 20x10 if you are going 275s. Tony will explain it to you as well, but stretching a tire a hair will keep it from 'rolling' over in hard cornering. It keeps you contact patch bigger to the ground and the sidewall square. I wouldn't do a 275 on anything less than a 9.5. Honestly, it looks awesome on a 10...and I pushed the snot out of the car yesterday on a fun drive and couldn't even catch the upper most edge of the sidewall. So in other words, that tire was squared up and not walking around.

I'm waiting on my F14’s too. Going with 275's all around on 20/9.5 wheels so I can rotate tires.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Great info! I've already been in contact with Tony at DV8 for a quote.
If I go with a 9.5s or 10s, will the tires stick out over the edge of the fenders?

It depends more on the tires. I'll be running 285s on my 10" wheels. I'll post a ton of pictures when I get them in a couple weeks.

This is why you may want to deal with Tony. I have been watching his work and he appears to be able to nail offset/wheel/tire combos for the look you want..ie no stick out...

The guys over at Forgestar are offset kings, they really understand how to get a perfect offset down when taking into account the tire size, brakes you have on, if you're lowered and Etc...
I've been getting more and more inquiries about going with 20x9.5 all around, and the convenience of rotating tires is there of course, and with that said you'll be decreasing the amount of understeer as well when going with a set up like that. Usually I only suggest square set ups if you're running on the track, so you can fully utilize the rear wheel to be wider with a wider tire, but lately, I have in fact seen quite a lot of inquiries on a square set up to the point where offsets have already been taken care of depending on what you want it to look like on your own Camaro. Check out our Forgestar thread here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=201357 Make sure to check out the Official Forgestar Gallery thread as well! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214643 I hope that helps! |

I was reading in my new GM High Tech Performance mag that the new 1LE Camaro will run on 285 series tires (front and rear). That car is setup for track and I was interested to see GM decided to go with 285s on each corner (basically the ZL1s front tires -front and back on the 1LE). |

There certainly is a ton of room up front to work with a wider tire up there. 285's with the proper offset wheel up front shouldn't be any problems, that's been on this forum before.
