Oil prices have been pretty steady at under $60. So this isn't OPECs fault at this time, however don't be surprised if they cut production because they were betting on higher oil prices. |

I would rather drive a Malibu hybrid if I had to drive something like that. Just as good if not better, more comfortable.

If you are worried about gas prices then little 4 banging ricers are for you. Like one person has said already in this thread you got to pay to play. To me a V8 rumble in your seat and the roar in your ear is work what ever gas cost.

Well i guess the plus about gas going up is that people will not want V8 so i will be able to pick up one cheap.

I read a couple weeks ago in USA Today that they estimate gas shouldn't go over $2.30 a gallon for the national average over the summer. I liked that but at the time gas was already near $2.30 here in southern California. Now regular is up to $2.55 and premium is anywhere from .20 to .30 more.

WHERE are you finding premium (93) for $2.27?!?!? Wawa(local convenince store and cheap gas) is selling for 87 for around that price in DelCo, Delaware proper is about 2.22. If I could find premium for that cheap, it might be worth the drive.

Gas prices in upstate NY are already 2.30 2.40 for regular. Somebody said that the camaro only reccomended premium and it could take regualar. I mean just about any car will take regular and run fine, but run great and not gum up motor is something else. Reason I ask is I had a 06 Monte SS with the 5.3L and it said to use premium. I used regular and started to get a small knock, then went o premium and the knock went away. So I dont know.

I heard demand for gasoline is at a 20-plus year low. which means the price should be down, right? Well the oil reserves are high and the cost of crude is down, so the refineries cut their production back to shrink the supply down and drive the price back up. The oil companies got too used to charging $4-$5 per gallon. Right now, the truck that I drive gets 10mpg. So my SS will give me higher mileage and higher horsepower. If the difference between the LT and the SS is going to break your bank, then you should get a hybrid. |

I drive a 2003 Chevy Z71 Tahoe. Lucky to get 17 on the highway and over 14.5 otherwise. I use regular.
I am replacing my wifes 1997 Z28 (LT1) which has never seen anything less than 93. More power more mileage and still use 93. Can't go wrong there getting our 2SS. Now with that said you can see gas aint cheap for my family good thing my daughter is only 8. Gas price currently does not effect my car buying. If I like it I buy it and we both do that because we hold onto our vehicles for a while. The only way I want a Camaro is a 2SS and that is what is supposed to be here Friday 22. My .02 cents |
