ZL1 a gas hog?
So my friend just got a zl1 and claims its a gas hog! He claims it takes a quarter tank for a 25 minute highway cruise. Neeedless to say I dont believe him. I know its not rated that great but I wouldn't think it would be that bad.

Stand on the gas pedal and that will happen. There is a gas guzzler tax on these cars for a reason.

I don't get it...mine gets great gas milage...have 1000 mi. on it
and it seems like I never have to gas it up. Gets as good as my ss did and better than my 4x4 |

I will admit that right now my car is using a lot of fuel, but I'm doind a good hard breakin. Once thats done i'll drive it normal.

how many 580 hp cars are doing great gas mileage?? i think no one cares.
gt500, porsche's,lambo,mercedes.. gtr,even the zr-1 etc... zl1 is the economy car of the gas wars among the heavy hitters. |

this car is heavy(4120) and low geared (3.73) with a shorter 6th (.63). It is not going to get good milage.
I would love to see what a 3.55 or 3.42 car would get. I think the ZR1 would get better milage with .5 5th but it would have a harder time breaking 200 than with its .67. in my z06 I am spinning like 1,800 rpm at cruise speed. 3.42 rear .5 6th. 24-25mpg on the highway. around town you can drag it way down though if you get fat footed.
