Wider tires on 20X10 Rims??
Well its new tire time. I want to go with a wider tire in the rear. What size would anyone reccomend. I love the wide tire look and even though they will cost more, would like to go as wide as I safely can. Brands I am looking @ are General Gmaxx
BGF spt comp. Hanook Thanks for any input or feedback. ![]()

Not sure if this size is available in the brand you mentioned but a 305/35 would be about the max width for a 10" wheel.

I heard that changing the size past a certain point will trip the speed sensors and throw a code. Is anyone aware of this?

That would be height, not width

That is what I would like to know. Is there a certain height difference between the front and rear tires that makes the speed sensors trip? I love the look of the tall/wide tire, but I heard if there is to much of a variance between the front and rear heights that is where the problem comes in.

As mentioned, 305/35/20 would be perfect for a 10" wheel if you can find that size in the tire you want.
My car with 305/35/20 NT555R (Nurburgring 20x10.0 wheels). From the rear view of my car the tires look wide. ![]() |

They work great as a street/strip tire. They even work really well in the rain/wet roads when they are new.
I live in very rainy (rainy season/summer) S.W. Fl. and I run the NT555Rs as my daily driver tires. I make sure to put a fresh set on near the beginning of the rainy season and I'm good to go. But once they get worn down (very little tread left), they start to suck in the rain. But they last a long time (8K miles or so for me). That's with a few track days mixed with daily driving. |
