There were plenty of non sponsored imports/ and euros that won....

Its just cars need to have quality parts on them, and be executed cleanly, not just piecemealed....

Its like to just toss on a ZL1 bumper and calling it a day on a Camaro, that's akin to tossing an M3 front end on a non M3. Or M5 front on a non M5...And adding all of that without power to boot is considered not a wise choice on judging sheets...
Plus then there's quality suspension parts that immediately win bonus points(KW+ Moton+ JRZ) ...then the wheels such as multi-piece or forged monoblocks....It all starts adding up

Mike Betts has a clean executed car, he's not sponsored (he worked for Modulare wheels, but his car is not all done up by a sponsor. He has an actual CF roof skin, not just a decal....

He's gone a step up and beyond, ex: Camaro's have brembo's from the factory, but he went ahead and removed those and tossed on the Gran Turismo 6 piston front and/GT rear brakes for his car.

After this BS show it makes me wanna put HT5 even more on the map to show all these stupid ass sponsored out the ass clubs were legit and bust our asses on our cars with our OWN hard earned money!!! We deserve to be seen, heard recognized and rewarded!

That's just my 2 cents and opinion but if we want this we have to plan and be seen in massive numbers!!

On a better note, thanks again for all the club guys that entered their car in the show, but also everyone from our club who came for support. That meant a lot and we all had a blast just chillin'. That was actually the best part. I hope to see you all soon and we should definitely plan a huge meet where everyone will go. I would love to get some entire group pictures with everyone and their cars in one photo.
I agree with you guys both !

on a positive note , I had a blast at the club ! Gordon you're an animal lol we need to party more often

Well those are your 2 cents, and everyone is entitled to an opinion, but with the current economy the attitude of being a no-show, you're just hurting the aftermarket community of your car's own platform....

There were quite a few 3rd party non sponsoring vendors walking around taking pictures and notes of the 5th gen camaros, and those of you who did notice a few guys with SLR's shooting away at just segments of the 5th gen camaro...Expect to see a few aero parts within the next few coming months.....SEMA is getting more expensive to go to, so more and more manufacturers are doing trade-shows on a local level...

Thanks for everyone that did roll out, you showed the local aftermarket companies that yes there is a tuning crowd out there...

Likely he didn't pay MSRP for everything but he still paid for a lot of items on his car.....

And also I see your build thread on your car, yes it has a powerful motor but like I said before on the judge sheets the take note of what suspension pieces you have, engine pay visual additions such as wire tucks ect....

Even things such as wheels and offsets matter...
Its about putting in time and work to make things sit right and not just tossing on parts in a judges eyes... Being a judge isn't easy at these things for those that judge at these events...

The Z below:
Sure its a bit extreme in some regards, but it has a lot of time into it and details were planned out
(Matte grey paint) not a wrap...
TE37's(4k), Endless brakes all around $7500(All around), Built engine, wire tuck, custom painted engine pay, polished suspension tid bits, ect ect..and he still didn't win... The owner realizes he needs to do an audio setup to have points on every category.

I didn't mean to somehow imply that non of the non sponsored cars won out of every category. I was more referring to what looked like only Camaro sponsored cars seemed to have won. They may not have been the case, or maybe it has...who knows. I just wanted to see some other cars win (camaros or even any other platforms that I saw and inspected). It's not easy being a judge, however it can be subjective when a judge has certain tastes in modifications or how things should be done. If you were to take some of the winners today regardless or category, some of them I thought should have won and others didn't even come close to a winning car. That's only my opinion, as everyone will have their own take on it. Everything is subjective in the world of mods, so a winning car one show to a judge may be not even close to in the running in another show with a different judge. It's a different strokes for different folks type of deal.

I had a lot of fun today though with everyone and it was a cool environment. It was a good experience to see first hand.
