90 Degree bend
As I was watching the video, I noticed this add-on creates a 90 degree bend while the car is running in factory mode, which creates lots of back pressure, especially if you're running S/C in stealth mode. Here is where I'm talking about:

HEY, I'm from Sioux Falls!
Nice to see something productive coming from this small town/state. This must be the one that was spotted here earlier this week. Too bad I didn't see it while it was here :(Btw, sounds amazing. Last edited by Justcallme61; 05-18-2009 at 10:04 PM. |

The AFR was rich to start with and we didnt get any reading from the diverters when they where open, but I would susspect it was fine. I know this thing could have made more power if we had a tunner too. Keep in mind the HP and Trq where actuall improvemnt numbers even though the base number was lower than some numbers Ive seen on here. We are using a superflow dyno.

performance wise, why have cut-outs vs an axle-back or cat-back system (borla, sts, etc..)
this is not a smart-ass question or anything, if there is a big difference, i really am just uneducated |

Stock sound when desired, more performance from the cut-outs because there's nothing after them like a cat-back would have.

and i assume since the install is easy and there is less piping, it is cheaper?
why do anything else then? |

Was this test with stock exhaust manifolds or headers?

To each their own, but to me Diverters > all....stock + tuned sound + "BEAST" sound...you have all 3 in one system...and in "BEAST" mode you make 18rwhp and 27rwtq...I honestly don't see any catback making that...that would net you "AT LEAST a tenth in the 1/4"...and the system is a top quality looking piece...now throw a cam in it and it will be straight NASTY!

We do have some other videos but it was so damn windy that afternoon and the audio was garbage so unfortunately the best is on the balcony out of the wind of from outside and the fans. Quote:
This style of system allows a total factory sound and performance yet giving you the hp and trq numbers comperable to a full cat back or axle back system when you want it. Compare it to a killer stereo system- we all love it loud but there is a volume knob for a reason. Quote:
Prices are online at our store and the actuators are actually higher than the pipes themselves - only by 1/4" or so but they are higher so a speed bump is going to hit your exhaust system before it hits the actuators. This is actually the lowest point of the entire exhaust system the cats turn down to this S pipe and the h pipe is way above it too. This however happens to be the only place for our product and it fit perfectly. Quote:
Thanks for all the questions- We will try to stay on top of them. |

One question from me.
Will this still work well with an aftermarket exhaust system? |

Man, that is a sweet set up. Excuse my ignorance, but the diverter basically is electronic cut outs?
Keep up the good work! |

First, with stock exhaust Second, with your cutout, but valve closed. This would certainly show if the 90 degree bend is helping or loosing power. Third, with the Valve open. This would give us a nice picture how HP and TQ would be in each stage. I agree in N/A the bend would help, but the Cutout is even more helpful in F/I, but my concern is that sudden bend in F/I. The cutout sounds 100 times better on a V8 than V6 or I4. Is this the final design? |
