Okay. So you would pay 700 a year more. A supercharger installed will run what...6 or 7 grand? So it would take 10 years to break even? And you can bet your insurance will rise dramatically if you add a supercharger...and yes you do have to tell the insurance company.
Bottom line, if power is what you want, it would be dumb to supercharge a V6 instead of just going with a V8.
(And I own a V6 so I am not promoting SS's at all...just common sense)

Supercharger = powertrain warranty gone. I spent 5 figures at my dealer on mod work and even I can't get them to say, "we'll work something out if theres an issue"

Lambo doors = no. Super played out, and tacky on anything not Lambo. (you asked for opinions)

Otherwise, it's your car and blah blah you can make it as ugly as you want blah blah.

I agree, get the SS for performance, I wanted a reliable daily driver that was economical. And the last vehicle I modded, a Mustang with a Vortech, my rates went up 25 bucks a year when I added it to the policy.

Please don't put lambo doors on. and yes that ruins your warranty. Why would you spend 7 grand on a supercharger? You could have got an SS for 7 grand more.

lambo doors arent my thing, but depending on how much power you want, you will have to change internals, not as easy as just bolting on the blower. Not to mention a tune, intake, you would want exhaust to make it all worthwhile

turbo or supercharged V6 beats the stock V8.....and still gets great fuel economy. Now mod the V8 and you can beat the V6 with SC or turbo.

Well I own a v6 but don't think the price of the supercharger is cost effective. I also agree if flat out motor performance is concerned, just get a SS. I could see supercharger kits selling like hot cakes if they weren't over $3000 installed... I don't know why they cost so much, but not worth it IMO.

$73/month for my SS isn't breaking my bank, glad I didn't get a v6 trying to "save money"...

Right, my 2012 SS costs like 30$ more per month for insurance than my 1998 V6 lol

Yes, absolutely! It would completely invalidate your primary reason for going "economic"...lol

As others said, a supercharger will void the warranty.

As for the doors, a couple of guys I know have them and they do look good on the Camaro.
No matter what you do, it's your car and if you like it go with it. It's nearly impossible to find 2 identical Camaros after a short time off the lot, very few people leave them 100% stock. Make it your own, however you want, only 1 person has to be happy with it and that's you!

Got a feeling the OP is a French Canadian and "economic" got lost in translation.
