Fbodfather,
Sorry for a dumb question. What does I/P mean? If I read what you said between the lines correctly this is NOT the production layout for the new mylink. The three pics I have seen of it are basically the same as the linked image. All of those have bright shiny plastic chrome vertical strips next to the mylink buttons. Since that is contrary to your comments I am encouraged that at least the chrome strips will NOT make the cut for production. As to your comments about interior budget, I completely understand your point. Per our earlier conversation in the Oracle parking lot, I would like an upgraded interior extra cost option that would provide a leather treated center console, shift boot, ebrake, ebrake boot and upgraded buttons (soft plastic?). My projected cost to upgrade these components is $800 - $1000. GM could sell it for $500 given your volume and still make a profit on it. Last edited by intensifi; 05-23-2012 at 12:39 AM. Wow I read all the posts before reading the article, I thought, no way is this yellow going to look good, but damn it just jumps out at you! I dont think the radio looks bad, it's prolly just a bad pic.

I welcome the changes. As always cant make everyone happy. Support the local C5 community and just have Lupe paint to match what ever you want!

I really like how the center stack turned out with the touch screen; cleaner than most aftermarket options, like Metra, IMO. The mirror is also a neat little addition..

. The current Corvette console has a glossy faux carbon fiber finish, and chrome trim rings, and in 4 years, not once has it been a problem living w/ it. ![]() But that being said, that flat silver trim piece that runs the width of the dash of my G8 is a pretty big problem during high sun angle months. It doesn't reflect on the glass, or in your eyes, it reflects from the downward tilting IP glass, creating this distorted silver/white smear across the speedo and tach. Interesting that that got by them in development. Point is, it CAN be done, but it's case specific. From my experience, I would think that Center console trim could be more sucessfully "glossed" than gauge trim. If the Camaros dash/radio is shaped in a way that it can't be done, fine. But what about a faux leather surround that matches the dash insert, or something similar. Slabs of gray painted plastic HAD gone away I'd thought. Looked way cheap on the early C6's, but they fixed it nicely w/ the '08+ upgrade.

Can't wait to take those pieces off and paint them flat black when I get my 13 in a few months.

Now, thousands are asking and nobody is answering so here it is, aimed directly at you: Can/Will this new bezel physically fit and function in a 2011? Nevermind the door Lock/Unlock button. Will the bezel mount into the dash of a 2011?

so can the new radio be retro fitted? do we know how much this unit will cost? i really don't like my current radio. it seems way too dated. all of the functions are hidden deep within.
