CAI cold air and a tune?
I'm getting ready to buy, I called the shop that will install and was told that about 30 - 50% of the CAI installs require a tune. Has anyone needed a tune after?
Also have you done the air scoop and washer relocate? |

I have a CAI, Inc. intake w/scoop and w/w relocate. It does not require a tune. Which CAI are you referring to?

1st off, its always best to tune after a CAI, but it not "required" on most of them... 2nd, why are you getting a shop to install it? if you can open the box it comes in, you can pretty much install a CAI, lol

I was going to get the CAI black powder coated unit. I'm also going to have a cat back Corsa installed just figured I would let them do it. Don't really have the place to do it myself

depends on the CAI you buy. If you dont want to tune, make sure you buy one that doesnt require it.

I had the CAI cold air intake, Race scoop with washer re-locate, VMAX Throttle body and SOLO HF cats with no tune. No problems. Ran great. A tune probably would have helped but there goes the warranty.
