On Saturday, June 23, we will be participating in the Somernites Cruise F-Body Gathering. The Somernites Cruise is a large, nationally known cruise-in located in Somerset, KY. For June, they will roll out the red carpet in their show-within-a-show specialty area for all F-Body owners! All Camaro’s including Rally Sport, Super Sport, Z28 and any other option will sit side by side with GM’s other performance car for the masses, the Firebird! Trans Am, Formula, honeycomb wheels and shaker hoods -- it’s all going to be here! All years of F-Bodies welcome, from old to brand new!

Where and when are we meeting?

We will meet at the I-71/75 South Rest Area (located between Mt Zion and Richwood exits) 9:00am and hit the road at 9:30am sharp.

How much will this cost?

We do not charge for our cruises and there is no entry fee for the Somernites Cruise. A full tank of gas is your only expense, though you may want to bring extra money to pick up a 2012 Somernites shirt or other item(s).

Do I need to bring anything?

Bring your cameras and camcorders.

It is also requested that you bring a two-way radio if you have one. This enables the caravan to stay in communication as need be (ie. sudden route change, car problems, bathroom break). We will tell you what channel to tune to at the driver meeting.
I will be down there on 6/22-6/25 boating with friends. Now I have to figure out how to get the camping stuff to fit in the Camaro and talk my daugter into riding in the back for 5.5 hours.

Installed my MACE 25mm intake spacers today. Unpainted, they look almost like wood, so I sprayed them with hi-temp orange. Took it on a little drive and I can notice a little more power on take-off. And after the 30 minute drive on this hot day, I was able to rest my hand on the intake manifold. I could barely just quickly touch it before because it would get so hot.

I was going to paint the intake manifold too, but I think I'm going to buy one of the ported ones and then I'll paint that.

I now have the RX Black-Ice-olator up for sale. Never installed it. Was thinking about installing both the RX & MACE together, but there is no way I could get to the back bolt on the manifold if I did that. If you want to buy it, let me know.

I plan on doing it all at once, 25mm MACE, plenum spacer, ported IM & ported TB...then I'll just have to adjust the Vararam to fit

I'm now on the sideline with Jason... Camaro is gone. Need to do some future planning and be responsible (at least try... lol). I'll be back sooner or later, but i definitely will still try and hang out with you all if you'll keep me! And I'll try to keep on C5 as much as possible.

Here's the new ride...

No problem. I just have yet to put the system into my car and have the enclosure. If you want the enclosure let me know, I have no use for it as it obvioulsy does not fit the camaro.

Being responsible isn't a bad thing, Jim. Nice truck!

Here is my new (to me) one.

I feel I did really good on the deal. Got a lot more than I owed on trade, sold about $3,000 of mods... except for these headers ... lowered my payment by $200 a month and have a nice stack of Ben Franklins in the bank.

All in all, I'm happy. I'm sure there will be times I'll miss the car, but priorities change.

I'll still be around.

Just sent... don't want to offend anyone.

Anyone have any recommendations on a reasonably priced paint shop that does decent work in the area (preferably between centerville and west chester)?

I need to have the hood and a few trim pieces on my wife's saturn repainted.

Nice Wrangler. I think the tubular bumpers look great on those.

Is this the new cool club... the "I used to own a 5th gen" club? haha. Welcome. Nice looking truck! I bought a new ram and traded in my 2010 camaro, so I know what its like! Jaylin traded in her '11 too.

2010 Camaro SS modified extensively. I stretched the body to make it a 4 door, but I swapped in the 3.6L DI V6 for fuel economy. Then I picked up a corvette body around the V8. I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)
