i can see doing regular what about midgrade you really losing that much with it. I mean besides maybe losing a little performance is there long term damage on using regular. Im just looking for scientific information not gut feelings

If you bought a real DaVinci, would you get a frame for it at Wal-Mart?

Now then, as EVERYONE knows your fuel economy WILL go down on a car that requires 91 or better octane that is running 87 octane. So you ultimately spend MORE money and get less horsepower because your running off of the low octane table.

It'll be premium for my ride, once she gets here that is...

So I assume there is no need for premium with a V6?

Nope. They designed it for optimal efficiency with Regular. No gain running higher octane.

My 08 HHR SS only has 265hp. It's recommended in the manual to use 91 or higher octane. So in a 300hp V6 Camaro, I'd run premium as well, that is if I was buying a V6. But since I'm getting the SS....PREMIUM FTW!!!

So for premium, your looking at $7.71 per gallon US at the peak ... either way, I'm still gonna baby my SS V8 and give her premium. Sucks, but what can you do.
Almost right, except our $$ is worth less than the US dollar, so the 5.67 Canadian would be just under $5 US, and not 6.80..

I see that you're from Vancouver as well... Have you ordered your SS yet? Any idea when it is coming in?

Too bad Avgas has low levels of lead content still.....100 octane would make an SS purr.....

What cracks me up is that some people are going to buy a $40k car, and then worry about saving a $1.80 at the pump at each fill up. If you're worried about $1.80 you probably shouldn't be buying a $40k Camaro.........

dont know what car is 40k unless your looking at 2SS with about 2-3k worth of options. But good point. If you cant afford the upkeep dont do it. But people did it with houses too now they are losing them. Dont feel bad for people who made dumb decisions.

Or a even a $30k car.

Seriously if the fuel cost is a concern do the sensible thing and buy the V6. With that LLT engine it's a great all-around performer that stands on it's own as better in every way than many V8 Camaro's of the past.
