Ya thats why I put a star where the alpha-numeric security digit goes. I suggest they are all recorded that way....without that number the rest of the vin is useless

I had ordered a different ZL1 and was told I wasn't going to get a 2012 model because of the production halt I was down the list beyond their initial allocation. I asked them to let me know when one came in so I could go look at it. They called when this one came in and I went to look at it. It's an automatic and I had ordered a standard. They told me that they couldn't get hold of the guy that ordered it; he had bought 4-5 cars from them and it was very unusual for him not to return their calls. I told them that if they couldn't reach him to call me and two days later they called. Long story short, I jumped on the chance to buy it regardless of transmission and color (my order was Silver w/standard trans.) I've already had to rip out my driveway and lower it (replace it) so the front splitter would clear the driveway approach. It was either that or move; I'm not giving up the car. I couldn't be happier.
