I'd suggest you wait. It would just be double the work to install one and then the other a little bit later.

So I'm thinking dyno with black ice and stock IM and then ported manifold and black ice?
I'd love to do the same test they did
Stock manifold run. Then ported manifold and black ice combined but that's gonna be double the work since. I'll have to demod the black ice. Bring to dyno. Then come back and put the ported one with black ice and dyno again.
If you want to do the 3 various stages of dynos thats up to you and pocketbook lol. Otherwise, I say just dynoing as is now, and then dynoing after with the new ported IM sounds great to me!

The dynos should be within an hours of eachother and be cooled off or the numbers will be useless.

Yeah well I gotta let the rtv set up as well so it will be hours apart if not a day apart.

Have to call dyno shop and get their prices as soon as I get off work

Its pretty damn difficult to get perfectly comparible numbers....You'd basically have to have some kind of controlled environment and be able to leave the car on the dyno while you made the changes....that is un-realistic for most people.

As long as you make an effort to dyno on days where the weather is reasonably close both times, and you dyno the car while its temps are about the same (say you dyno the car after some cool down the first time...well then you should do the same the 2nd time). The LLT seems to perform best when hot, but not heat soaked.

SAE correction should help even out the issues. Just keep a note of the weather conditions so you can report that to us when/if you show us your results.

Hey KP- now I know you're trying to play it smart and be "strong", and wait and get some objective information...but you know we're gonna buy this thing!!

You're (just like me), dreading taking that Black-Ice back off and pressing your luck on the re-install, hoping we don't jack-it all up! LOL

The way I see it, there's 2 ways to go here:

1) Take the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach and be satisfied with the car as is (say whaa?), or

2) Follow the sage advice of The Manly Handbook, which clearly states one step toward manliness is to "find a job you don't want to do, and do it!"

lol funny guy.

I don't mind tearing the IM back off....trust me on that that doesn't bother me at all

But you are right...I know I will end up getting this thing but I have other things to take care of first. By the time the reviews will have come in and then I can join the rest of you guys with a ported IM

Oh yez zir!

This porting is definitely the real deal. We need some 1/4 miles new 2012 record with All of these new mods?

Have any of you trifecta guys tried to ask for porting adjustment?

I bet with tuning we can maybe bring the HP to about 10 more:beer:
