The girlfriend was mad and got out of the car and slammed the door ONCE. I cant say much more due to an on going missing persons investigation.

I don't see what the big deal is. I slam my own door all the time. Are you guys saying these cars aren't reliably built? It's a heavy door, it's made to take it.

I have a machine that's esentially a huge wrought iron piston with an army boot on the end of it and when I get out of my Camaro it swings down on 3/4" stainless chains and launches the door into the latched position at 197 MPH (I've checked it with a radar gun).

P.S. It doesn't touch the glass though.

...and don't throw my door wide open either !!!

Hate it when someone does that, boucing the door back on the hinges makes the door droop over time.

Hmmm, you would rather they put their grubby paws on your paint job. I have been trying to break the wife of touching the paint by using the window to close the door. I can replace a window cheaper than a complete polish or repaint.

Good point! I'll clarify, I don't mind if they grab the side of the window. I have more of an issue when someone grabs the top (creates more leverage and bending) to help get out or close the door.

The windows in my 94' Z28 got really loose from doing so. When you opened the door it was like a pair of shorts on a clothes line on a windy day.
I was driving it once and the window fell off its track/guides and fell into the door cavity. I tore the door apart to find what broke. I couldn't tell you what piece it was but it appeared that it was from grabbing the window to get out or when slamming the door. Kind of like a paper clip, bend it to many times and snap.
