When my sales rep called me to check out their ZL1 (already sold) it was still in the service bay undergoing PDI. I looked in the wheel well and saw the yellow spacers. I told my sales rep to make sure he told the tech to remove them and put them in the glove box. No one was aware they were there despite the sticker on the window in about 10 different languages describing how to remove them.

You would think that reading (and maybe comprehension) was a minimum requirement for being hired at a Dealership...D'OH!!!

Seriously, folks, all kidding aside, it is an amazing car, hats off to GM, and this is a tiny hiccup. I really do just want others to be extra vigilant when they go to pick theirs up to ask about this. I just didn't know. I probably should have.

This whole situation about the spacers is quite laughable and proves that no dealership is immune to this type of......stupidity?

Zl 1.....sorry it took long for me to reply. Yes you can just jack the car up a little till you see the yellow spacer get loose. Then just reach in and pull them out. All easy to do with your hand. Did it in about 4 min both sides.

so god forbid we need a tow, the driver should jack the ZL1 up to install the yellow spacer first before loading it onto the flatbed tow truck?

Most tow truck drivers will have a hydraulic jack somewhere in their rig, and it should only take them a few minutes per side to do.

Okay, folks, I have done a little more "research" online, and I think I have found a service bulletin on this...

And how many of them, if the dealer actually removes them, will be thrown away by the dealer during PDI?

I think a red warning streamer that says "Remove before flight" would have been a nice touch.
