motor might be fine, just keep doing that a few times and don't know if the tranny will survive. If you see black smoke coming out the back after a missed shift, very bad.

You are OK. I've hit the limiter a couple times myself. Car runs better than new!

Geez man, who knows what it could really take if you acted like you didn't care. Did you see any of the cash for clunkers destruction videos on YouTube? Some of those vehicles just would not die.

You probably did more wear and tear to your trans in that little mishap.

You could do is bend a pushrod after repeatedly beating on the rev limiter.

That's why they created the rev limiter to keep the engine in its designed operating specs

In racing, power shifting is not letting up on the gas and stabbing the clutch as fast as you can to shift. Anything else was called Sunday driving...

That's kinda what I was thinking... If you don't use the clutch your gonna scatter trans parts all up and down the track...

Just lift a bit on the throttle and change gears. No clutch.

Truck transmissions have gears with an almost straight cut. Easy to shift without the clutch.

Modern automobiles have angle cuts on the gears and synchros which can be damaged when not using the clutch, even under a light load.
I understand that. Thats why I was wondering wtf those guys were saying before when they mentioned shifting without a clutch. Unless maybe they have race built transmissions? Lol
