For those considering the G8 conversion, you will need a new bell housing and driveshaft as well as some other small parts. My conversion will start next week.

Bump for OP as we need more of these on the road.

Why would you need a new bell housing?

could be wrong, but i did not think that the bellhousing could be romved from a tremec...since there is no blowproof bellhousing available form it as it cannot be removed..and replaced for one..that was why guys were running autu tranny blankets on them and tech was letting them pass..i really never looked , but now you peak my curiousity

Bellhousing can be removed... just removed mine last night.. Bolts on from the inside of the housing around the slave...

thanks for the input, i guess they just don,t make a blowproof bellhousing for the tremec yet, but still can,t figure out why you would have to cahnge bellhousing for a gto swap...it would mount up to a ls1 thru ls3 or l99 with no issues...

Yeah mike they make a aftermarket bellhousing. I also dont understand why you would need to change the bellhousing for a swap.

only difference between the t56 and tr6060 bolting up is the input shaft length. the t56 is longer, and needs the smaller roller bearing type pilot bearing, the tr6060 is shorter, and uses the larger ball style pilot bearing. the small roller bearing fits into the smaller hole deeper in the rear flange. just did a swap in a gto, left the t56, but put an ls3 behind it. had issues bolting the trans up, realized it was bottoming out on the pilot bearing. one trip to autozone and it was all good! how much are you asking for this setup? I am on the market for a trans/clutch setup.

the ls2 still uses the older style roller bearing (gto, G8)

T56 from an LT1 and LS1, LT1 is on the left.

TR6060 pilot bearing.

thats what i thought, it had to be a shaft length issue..send me pm,s on price you are wanting to pay, shipping is the biggest issue as this is a costly shipping part..
