I'm not much of an audio guy, but I was OK with the Bose system in my LT1 Camaro and similarly happy with the Monsoon in my LS1. I'd prefer something with more balance instead of what seems to be more bass-driven designs. A stereo won't be a deal-killer by any means, however, that would be a nice plus.

new nooze, jl clean sweep isnt the best any more. alpine has one that has an extra eq buster that costs extra for the jl. this alpine unit is only $99 more (which breakes even with the jl now) and also as four mics so it calibrates your system specially for your car and the speakers set up there. pretty nice.

Technology has come so far in such a short amount of time. I have a really good sound system that I put in my car. The base model Camaros (in 1994, at least) only came with 4 speakers...my car didn't come with the speakers behind the rear seat.

Anyway, with the exception of my head unit, my whole system is from Rockford Fosgate...and I haven't personally heard any components sound better. I have 4 3-way speakers, 1 10 inch sub, 900 Watt Sub amp, 1500 watt speaker amp, and a 1000 watt capacitor. I spent more than I, personally, should have...but I got an amazing deal overall.

My mom's Passat has a Monsoon system and I'm never been impressed. The other thing is that I don't know of any car company that's been able to give a sound system that could stand up against the aftermarket. Nonetheless, I would love to see GM squeeze at least a 10 speaker sound system into the Camaro, from JL...since I don't see Rockford Fosgate being an option. Those 10 speakers include a center channel and sub. I say a center channel because I've only seen them used in luxury sedans and I think that it adds an excellent dimension to the sound quality.

The other thing I wanted to add was that in seeing spy shots of the interior the only thing that made me a little sad is that we haven't seen a screen like the G8 GT (for instance).

I don't really want GPS/navigation, but I do want a nice 7-inch screen that holds all information...there's always the pop-up unit in the CTS

I have a feeling GM won't put a sub in the Camaro...just adds more weight. They're trying to cut back everywhere...and their idea could be, let the consumer add the sub...which will add weight to the car after it's been weighed by the automaker.

I can do without the big ugly screen myself. I like the screen in the Equinox Sport we just got. It displays plenty of info, yet doesn't look like a small built-in television. I think the size of the screen in the Camaro's spyshots is close to that of the Equinox. So I hope it comes just as we've seen.

hey tag, after seeing the new pix today i still dont know but i either got 5k for subs or rims (if those are the stock rims ill leave em). but i will do the tint like the day of or day after then the stereo(the BRAND NEW ALPINE TOUCH SCREEN HEAD UNIT and 13.5 inch w7) but think a new head unit can be fit in?

yes i know... 5K FOR AUDIO. i want it done right this time. dynamat everythink. custom box but the 5k will include tint and atleast a 500$ alarm system. it will look sick. my audio shop that i purchase everything is actually helping design everything and fit everything. i might actually be crazy. but this will be one goos system that wont add the much weoght maybe 150lbs to 175lbs max.

I cant believe this thread is still going.... when I started it I didnt think it would last two weeks, lol!

But anyhow, Im all about the clarity with clean bass...... I really just wish that if Chevy isn't going to do anything spectacular with sound... then at least make the setup easy for people to do audio swaps.... unlike my Audi where basically you can change one or two things... its the whole setup.... HU, speakers tweeters, etc.... you cant just change one thing....

btw....I know I wrote about this before in this thread as well but I hadnt heard in real life then... but imo... the best FACTORY audio setup in the world I have heard is the new bang and olufson in the new S5..... heard it the other day... and it is perfect...wow!

Not too much bass...just the right amount and rest is all clarity.

Window tint? Living in VA sucks. We can't do anything like that to our cars. I probably will try to get away without the front plate for a while (just to see how expensive the fines get).

And ditto the stereo. I'm pretty anxious to see what we can do aftermarket wise to the stereo, but as long as I can get a decent iPod integration I'll be perfectly happy. Other things like adding a relatively integrated nav & steering wheel controls would just be gravy.

Same here. In NJ you can only tint the windows behind the doors. And I'll be leaving the front plate off mine as well.
