I think we all know that the current Camaro is an Image car while the Challenger is the best looking and the mustang is the best performer

Shit the reason I wanted a Camaro over a Mustang was due to a billion mustangs on the road and not nearly as man Camaros. I see those ****ing Mustangs every where I go. Dime a dozen as I see it. No thanks

The GT500 has been hyped all year, the reviews landed right before month end in May, so I'm sure it didn't hurt the sales, no one can know for sure right now what caused the spike in sales, and lastly you should find a new emoticon for the end of your sentences, this one is getting old.
You mean this one?
I like it.

Actually the Chevy V6 responds very well just by bolt on breathing mods. Mine was turning 13.9 with the basic axle back, x-pipe, sprint booster and cai. now with the ported TB its opened ope a helluva lot more. Gotta be doing a lot better than 13.9 now. 250lbs more than the mustang, it would really scream if it weighed 3500lbs.

I'd say Transformers was a great bit of advertising; better than anything Ford put out.

Also weren't the initial years numbers actually higher for the Mustang than they were for the Camaro? By that I mean Mustangs '05 and '06 sales numbers verses the first two for Camaro. And weren't those strong mustang number what the GM insiders needed to get a green light for the Camaro?

I'd be curious to see a REGIONAL breakdown.

Here around Seattle, I see a LOT of mustangs compared to 5th Gen Camaros..

Remember the economy was much better in 05 and 06 and car sales as a whole were higher than the first two years of the Camaro.

You are incorrect about the GT500 being out but what Warheit said was the hype around the GT500 was his opinion of what drove people into the showrooms to buy mustangs, but I think it's the incentives that they have to offer is what's helping and we don't know what percentage of those sales are attributed to rental sales to rental agencies. JMAN311 makes no references to sales, only the ability to build out the cars are better at the Ford site than at the Chevy site. He just wants Chevy to do the same.

Interesting enough, here in Ontario it's impossible to find a) incentives on Mustangs, and b) a good selection of Mustangs. My good friend finally bought a new Camaro this weekend after literally months of shopping for a Boss or Shelby in a cloud/price combo he liked. Simply no budging on price whereas he got a great deal on the Camaro. I will be introducing him to this forum as soon as he takes delivery.
