The first ZL1 in my town... Sold... For 80k

Was down at the local dealer yesterday picking up some parts for my car and asked when they would get the first ZL1 in because I need to look at it to get measurements to make a front license plate bracket for them... I was informed that it should be in next week and that it has already sold to the tune of 80k!!!

Then they proceeded to tell me that I needed one, and should trade my SS in... Not at that kind of a markup!!!

What kind of prices have you guys been seeing/hearing from the dealers?

Yup, trade in your SS to cover the mark-up on the ZL1

Heh, they tried justifying the cost because "of the limited production number", and based on some guy paying 90k each to get 2 of the first 3 produced... Idk if the story they told me about the guy is true or not, but either way they're off their rocker.

Well what i heard was it was Rick Hendrick, who by the way can afford it. And getting Vin #1 would probably have more value but not 90,000, at least not to me.

WOW $80k, I paid MSRP but not in Cali, had to go to Arkansas to get MSRP. They paid for private shipping because the messed up on the whole drop-ship deal.

With the competition the ZL1 has now, I can't believe dealers are still doing this.

Sounds to me they are justifying their line of BS to unsuspecting and misinformed buyers. But if a person is willing to fork over that much over msrp, that's their own stupidity. It may be limited but not as limited during the 1st year as some other salesmen that have been going around saying they are making only 200 for the first year, and if you didn't know they made over 1700. 2013 will be made for as many as needed, thus not limited.

There is probably ABOUT $2900 below MSRP to play with. You just have to put on your Donald Trump disguise!
