First off, welcome to camaro5. Yeah this is old news. Most people here already know the shelby has about 100hp more.
My wife walked up behind me while I was watching the video. She said the shelby was cute looking. This gave me an idea. I might buy her the cute shelby and me the badass zl1. Best of both worlds! |

Take that Chevy !!! Well done on building a fat 4xxx pounds ZL1 that runs 12s all day long with it's 580hp, it's a freaking performance sports car not a freaking luxury Cadillac
Nothing to say here, Ford did a great job on the 2013 GT500, along with it's 100whp advantage it's also a few hundred pounds lighter, oh with everything else it's also at the same price. Simply and sad to say it, I think the GT500 is just the better car to buy than the ZL1 |

Those are almost fighting words around this forum. Nobody is denying the performance levels of the GT500 and everybody is already aware of it. This is a Camaro forum and if you think the Mustang is a better buy based solely on a dyno pull and specifications alone then that's your choice.

The horsepower difference is old news, and we were all aware of it for quite a long time. Both of these cars are out in customer's hands, so why have none of the mags done a heads up comparison between the two yet? I want them to get into the nitty gritty, lap times, and actual instrumented tests done on the same day, at the same track, with the same driver. I could care less about which one is the dyno queen.

ZL14LIFE
I will say I'm impressed with the Mustangs performance but thats only thanks to Mr Shelby. The car itself is ugly, The new tail lights make it look like a womans daily driver. The ZL1 looks fresh and next gen. I would rather have a car that catches everyones eye (which it does) then something that gets me to the next set of lights a fraction on a second faster.
