Detect an air bag deployment and send help if needed
Kill your car and tell the police exactly where it is , in the event of theft.
Run diagnostics on your car in real time,
I do a lot of traveling for both work and pleasure and the service is worth it to me.
your white bezels look great ! accents the rear really well.
Yeah there are definitely things that Onstar offers that GMPP doesn't and I'm seriously considering it right now. But I don't travel a lot and in the 2 years I had Onstar I never used them so history tells me that it may not be worth it, but again yesterday it would've been worth it for sure. Nice thing for peace of mind for sure to have it!

And thanks on the compliment

BTW the bezels do look nice
Definitely something I will try, and thanks!

My spare key was at my house 100 miles away and this the one time my dad doesn't bring it with him. So I try onstar and like I don't have the service but my reason is because I don't drive my car often. Well onstar says they can't help because a link could not be established with my vehicle and I I need to be inside. Well the cops that were protecting our cars that might decided to try with a slim Jim. Nothing. I decided to call GM roadside assistance and 15 minuets later a guy came and opened my doors with the air between the window trick and a very long stick to reach the door handle. I had to crawl through the back seats and pull the release tab in the trunk to get out and find my keys. Needles to say my Expirence wasn't as bad as yours as it only took 2 hours but Unfortunitly I missed out on the cruise the other camaros had.

Oh by the way nice tail light bezels
Wow the guy that tried that trick on my car failed lol! Glad everything worked out for you even if you missed out on the cruise though

And thanks for the compliment

Hmm fyi the retail price on a new cut key and fob only costs $50 if you have remote start, $40 if you don't. If you find a dealer asking for more then that don't pay it.

Plus the keys are programmed to the car via the ignition switch from my understanding. Unless the dealership can do it another way.
So unless you could get in the car then you couldn't have programmed a new key anyway.

16 hours to open the car?

Pfft next time just smash the drivers window out, call it in for vandalism, the Safelite guys would have even come and replaced the window in less time than 16 hours.

OP, I hate that feeling knowing you just locked your keys in the trunk.

I carry my spare with me at all times because of that. I keep it in my front pants pocket with my money clip.

Even if I'm just going out to my garage to get something out of the car.

Once, I noticed brake dust I missed on one wheel. Popped truck to get a rag, finished, shut trunk. Key fob was in trunk. No problem. I had the spare in my pocket. It was late and I would have been locked out of the house with no cellphone.

I never go near my car anymore without the spare.

And, I called once and was told a new one is $200.

I have gotten into the habit of unlocking the car before opening the trunk. I don' know why I started doing that, I just do.

Why did you have to crawl into the trunk and use the inside release? Didn't the trunk release button on the drivers door work?

When you open the door by force, aka locksmith, the car will actually not send the electrical signals to the trunk. The trunk button doesn't work, so that's why he (and I) had to climb through and use the inside release.

I just feel good I'm not alone.

Of course you may remember I did it with the car running AND in gear with the wheels spinning.
