Sorry to bump a somewhat older thread, but, I've never heard of an offer like this. Has anyone seen an offer like this before this one, or after?

For those that got it, which card did you have? Did you have the 'old program rules' (with earning cap of $500 per year, but, no vehicle redemption limits), or, the 'new program rules' (with no earning cap, but, there are vehicle redemption limits).

Hope an offer like this comes to my card soon.

The card I have is the original blue one that has the $500.00 earning cap per year. Never have gotten this opportunity before this.

Just read my last post in this thread too.....

Update...the $500.00 got me a painted heritage grill, a cargo net for the trunk and 2 new SS emblems with $3 to spare.

I fixed my rim by myself for $20.00 worth of supplies and my buddy's shop to mount and dismount the tire.

Is there any card that is 5% unlimited? I travel a ton for business and could rack up 10k a year easy...

I've got the same card, so I guess there's a 'chance' I can get an offer like this.

I could really use it. I've had some really bad parking lot luck with my GTO the last couple of months. Come back from diner and someone has backed into and scratched the front. Another place a few weeks later I come back and same thing but on the rear bumper. Dealer has quoted just under repaint both these bumpers, and fix a stone chip on the hood for just under $500. I've been putting it off since knowing my luck, I'll get the work done and then within the week some other jack a$$ will manage to hit the freshly painted bumpers again. But, if I could use the GM earnings, that's a no-brainer to get the work done.

The 'new card' does not have a cap on the earnings. But, you are capped on the amount of those earnings that can be redeemed on the vehicle -- and in general the caps are pitiful. Popular GM vehicles have low caps, where as the poor selling vehicles have much higher caps.

I did once hear of an offer where they temporarily removed earning caps (some time around mid 2009), but, I wouldn't count on it happening again with any frequency.

I seem to get one or two "top off offers" or a "loyalty" bonus every several months. If I was sent the service discount, I'd consider using it, since there are points scrolling off from 7 years anyway.
