If anyone is upset about buying a ZL1, they can come and take a drive in my car. It's louder, rides rougher, modified, and still not as fast in a straight line or around the corners as a ZL1. You have to be crazy to not be happy with it, or to regret buying one.

I don't know how many remember this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207621

The other day I get an email from the dealer after not hearing anything from them for months then out of the blue I get this in my email on 6/12:

Quote:
Marc, Ruben Perez, I know you are not buying the ZL1, but what about if you can come down test drive it and get your refund back, or I can mailed to you.... sorry it took so long....
VR
Ruben
So after the background stuff from the top thread I did decide I couldn't get the ZL1 at that time. None of us knew when they were shipping and to be fair to the dealership I told them to free me from it. So reading that email I'm thinking well now it's a different day and I get to thinking about it again and there is no mention of it being sold or under any contract yet. Also when I got that email it was basically "I know I can't do it now unless my work pays for me to go back to school." (Because I decided to go back instead of getting the car when all that happened in the first thread) I had been waiting on this response from my work for about 2 months now btw.

So great news comes to me today, work will be paying for school. What a burden has been lifted off of me!

So now I proceed to text the guy I was working with at the dealership. Original deal was MSRP btw. So it's not a thread jack, here is what I'm upset about, dealing with shady dealerships and not going through reputable dealerships like Becky's.

I'm sticking to my guns though, I won't pay over MSRP but I can't beleive they are trying to get me to pay over someone else or that they would even allow it. I'm 90% sure they are playing the BS game but it still ticks me off.

Interesting thread...I am a camaro fan and still waiting on a Z28, however, I would love to be able to just throw down the amount of money for a ZL1. I do have to say it doesn't have as many options compared to GT500. I would think some would be a little bit envious of some of the features on the other one such as a carbon fiber one-piece driveshaft, 4 valves per cylinder, and the TVS SC 2300, not to mention no gas guzzler tax. But I do have to say the ZL1 looks a lot better...which they would have allowed Carbon Flash metallic to stick around for it or at least offer the carbon edition package for the ZL1. I hope they start to tweek the psi on the SC. Though I cannot say anything as of yet I hope to get one or the other before the year is out. DO NOT LET ME GO TO THE DARKSIDE GM...I HEARD THEY HAVE COOKIES~

....Muhahhhaaaaaha,,,,...I'm dissapointed at the fact that the ZL1 chasis, suspension and platform has the capability of handling soooo much more power than delivered from the factory. I can hardly wait until GM decides to upgrade the untouched LSA motor.... used as a plug and play motor for the ZL1, and tweak it's potential. Note to GM: You guys are smart,....waaay smart, you have given us a technological ride beyond comparison in it's class. Mr. Scott....We Need More Power....!

It's pretty obvious that most of the whiners are Ford guys or people that secretly drive Camrys. I don't think we've seen a lot of ZL1 owners complaining about the performance or the value, and we definitely haven't seen long time Camaro fans that own a ZL1 being disappointed. Would this site be more enjoyable without the trash talk? Yes, but it's not enough to derail the enjoyment that I'm having learning and reading about this car and I can't imagine it affecting the permagrin of someone that actually gets to drive this beast every day.

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!! Took my usual curved off ramp that goes up and over I-15 down to Spring Mountain at 77mph (can't break 80 yet) a full 17 mph faster than I had in my 6 series BMW and it wasn't even trying. It's OK, the speed limit there is a hundred, yeah that's it...
