I'm curious because I looked for this on the net and could not find it. What your source for this?

I know that the 2013 shelby has been taken to the 'ring multiple times. Thats about all I could find. I'm not sure if its a big deal anyway, because ford could easily release times at other tracks if they wanted. But just curious.

I also know gm runs more than the zl1 when they rent the track. They continually test corvette performnace. Without the corvette, and the testing and tuning it gets, the zl1 would not be what it is.

Can you imagine the ZL1 putting just as much money into an engine as the Shelby puts into the suspension? Can you say 800-900 HP?

All the videos of the GT500 at the Ring have other traffic there. I think we'll start seeing track times appear soon. Even if it's faster than the ZL1 on certain tracks, still won't be comparable to the ZL1 times there unless it was done by the same driver, on the same day. The stupid magazines need to do a head to head soon, this waiting game BS has to stop. Cars have been out for months.

Well, we do have one head to head

Some people don't like the conclusions is all

Deli doesn't seem the kind to be upset if the Camaro takes it. He, like a few of us would just love to see and read about a track throw down.

You have a head to head on a dyno, then one head to head where they do a 0-60 run, 1/4 mile run, slalom, and skid pad, braking and driving spiritedly on public roads. No track results. And I do like those results. They are exactly where I though they would be. The first review of the GT500 I saw a few weeks ago it couldn't crack a 1.0G on the skid pad, and in that review, they said the 2011 car did. Also, like I said on page 1 of this big ass thread, .05 on the skid pad is pretty significant.

And just so you don't think I'm drinking as much Ford Coolaid as you are Chevy coolaid, here is my quotes, word for word, from page 1

I thought that the head of SVT specifically addressed this issue and said the revised syncros and gearing would get rid of that. Apparently not. It's starting to look grim for the super-Stang, even with the 100hp power advantage, initial non-instrumented tests on real roads show the ZL1 to be the more usable car. I think mag times will show the same thing, unless they test both cars at a very smooth and nearly perfect track where there is 1. no bumps 2. no quick changes of elevation. Great write up. They should have included all of that information in the video while they were at it.
At the end of the day, I don't own a GT500 or a ZL1. It doesn't matter to me if either one of them runs 14s in the 1/4 or takes 800 feet to stop from 60. If I had the money, I would own both of them. If I had 60k to spend on a car, I would buy a Grand Sport. I might drive a Ford, but please stop attacking my posts and putting me in the "Ford camp". I'm here because I love the Camaro, not because I want to measure my internet penis against ZL1s and SS Camaros of the world.

The zl1 has already hit 200+ mph, not stock but no aero changes needed. In fact, I've read nothing that indicates the shelby has superior aero.

Have you seen how hard it is to add MRC to an existing car and get it right? I think the shelby engine would fit nicely in the zl1 engine bay.

Deki,I think folks like yourself and Fender call it pretty straight. I agree with you. We really do not have a whole lot to go on yet. Let's just wait until we have a good cross section of reviews from various sources.

The thing is though, that we don't know certianly that the GT500 will NEED a fancy sophisticated rear end to beat or keep up with the ZL1 on a road COURSE.

I can be as stubborn as the next guy, but I understand the IRS and MR whatever of the ZL1 is going to be MUCH more forgiving on the road, where there are imperfections in the road etc...

Also:

IT'S NOT PETTY BLUE!!!
