If it all comes down to stoplight drag races then an auto ZL1 would mop the floor with the GT500.

Seriously though, anyone who would actually spend that much on a Mustang or Camaro probably has more than enough loyalty towards their own brand regardless of the numbers. Anyone who is buying a new car solely for 1/4 mile performance should be buying a 5.0 and dumping tonnes of money into mods anyway. If 1/4 mile performance is the only factor when judging cars then we would all be in heavily modded foxbodies/3rd gens.

I think that both of these cars are awesome for different reasons. If I had the money I would definitely have one of each (as well a 6.4L Chally, Boss, and 1LE).

The real winner in any comparison of these cars is the consumer.

I wish you were correct. But I can vouch for the cars in my area.
I still haven't seen a zl1 in person, and I hope that's not the case for that car.
But I've seen numerous gt500s hogging the left lane driven by 60 year old men.
Not that all 60 year old men drive like that. But that's all I ever see them doing.
Same as the old guy in a vette sterotype.

Could be people that are going to buy the 1LE just want a great handling car and are not concerned with all out speed. it will have a different look than the normal SS.

You guys seen the boss intake exhaust tuned car take down a zl1? Stangtv. IMO, after seeing that and adding up funds I would think lightly modded boss vs gt500 vs zl1...I would take a boss. Also, you don't see me clambering to get rid on my modded SS either now do you? Lol

Sure you can try to argue that this is the classic use of these cars, lined up at the stop light. However there are large amounts of car enthusiast in America who look forward to driving in corners or mountain roads (like me).
Seriously, I get that you hate Mustang and drag racing but a GT500 is equally capable on mountain roads just like a ZL1. To think otherwise is ignorant.

Public mountain roads are not road courses. Who in their right mind is going to drive on a mountain road like they drive on a road course?

The handling capabilities of the ZL1, how ever superior they may be, will be proven on a closed circuit course by a professional driver.

The review clearly shows that the GT500 isn't as capable on a mountain road as the ZL1 Camaro....... that is the entire reason why the Camaro won......

Just like the review clearly shows that the ZL1 isn't as capable on a drag strip as the GT500.......

Also, why do I hate Mustangs? and drag racing?

Really? You have already tuned a ZL1 and a 2013 GT500? And with just a tune and intake you have overcome the near 100rwhp deficit and weight difference between these two cars? I call BS on numerous accounts.

Hate is too strong of a word. Sorry.

I am not arguing that the GT500 handles better than a ZL1 on a road course. It probably doesn't.

I am arguing that the capability on a mountain road, at slightly above the speed limit, is his opinion and you are taking it as fact.

I refuse to acknowledge a winner based on some guys spirited driving on a mountain road. This guy had an opinion before he set foot in either car. The outcome was pre-determined in his mind before the "test."

I agree with you on the first part, but now you're stating facts that you have no clue about.

And this is why Ford fans are trolls.......

He accuses me of doing something and does the exact same thing in the same post... I guess it was a different sentence so it was ok....
